It hurts me when people don't know who Robin Trower is. It was my first concert and I've been a devoted fan since then. To hear Ann Wilson cover is just phenomenal. I hope it brings a new generation into the Trower fold
@@kingboagart899 Couldn't agree more. James Dewar deliver the rich deep voice contrast to Robin's guitar play. Ann Wilson is a fabulous singer but it sounds foreign for her to sing this song. If the roles were reversed, we would be saying the same thing about James singing a Heart song.
Linda Perry is up there as a great female rock voice. Too bad radio & Mtv (remember when they played music videos?) ruined her by over playing Whats Up by 4 non blondes. Her solo albums are a thing to behold.
She's 71? Damn I just heard this come on and I was like, damn this must be an old Heart song I must have missed. Her voice sounds as incredible now as it did then!
Yeah when I pick pick the lyrics from the original it was hard for me to understand it too Robin had a weird kind of way to distort his own voice made it hard to understand what he was saying sometimes took me forever and interpret the first three lines
ann wilson ...man shes amazing..whe she did the zepplin tribute her and her sister nailed stairway to heaven..and i believe that performance brought tears to robert plants eyes
Saw Jimmy when he was a young man starting out with Stone The Crows in a small Glasgow pub. His voice was so deep and soulful, an absolute gem and for me will never be forgotten.
OMG! I am a huge Robin Trower fan, and not only does Kenny Wayne Shepherd do a nice job on the guitar, but Ann Wilson belts the hell out of the vocals! Fantastic! 🎸🤘
One of Robin Trower's greatest songs and the greatest female rock vocalist combined into one. It can't get any better than that. Amazing job making it your own Ann.
I saw robin grower at the Montreal forum theater in 1974 opening for king crimson. Can't put in words what I felt that night. Two very different forms of music on on show. Needless to say, Robin was fantastic along with the band. Was Ann 71 when she sang this? Unbelievable!!!! 😀
Ann did a very good job of giving this remake justice. She threw in a more raw dirty feel to an otherwise pristine, clean, emotionally eligant classic masterpiece. That's pretty damn hard to pull off and she did it
Robin Trower should definitely have already been in the rock and roll hall of fame what a killer player he is and he’s still out there doing it he never seems to get the credit he should.
Best Trower cover I have ever heard. And the only voice that could keep up with the great James Dewar. Roger Fisher is right - Ann Wilson is the greatest female vocalist in rock.
I was a big Heart fan back in the 70s. But they left me in the 80s and 90s with their fluffy sound change. It looks like Ann has finally rediscovered her roots. I saw her at the Iowa State Fair a couple weeks ago, and she rocked the house.
There is no such person as the best female/male rock vocalist ever. It is purely objective, and not everyone has the same taste in music. It is enough to say that she is a great rock vocalist and leave it at that.
Unbelievable! I've been a top fan of Robin Trower from the very beginning. Anne Wilson has captured a great cover of one of Robin Trower's greatest tunes to date. Excellent work, thank you!
Oh Damn, got the chills again....Oh Boy, I can see I'm gonna have to get the whole album. Too Dang Good Girl. This so reminds me of growing up and listening to Heart Records. Damn great memories Ann and I have YOU to thank for them.
A memory: We saw Trower with Lordan and Dewar for 1st time, I think the VOTF tour. In the break after warm up band finished, we spoke with a guy who saw Trower before, and he assured us it will be incredible. He said when he plays the opening of Bridge of Sighs, you will feel chills go up your spine. You know what? He was RIGHT!
I got high and listened to "Dog and Butterfly" thru headphones right after it was released. Ever since, Ann has been one of the voices in my head...same with Robin Trower...now it's much stronger. The other voices have finally shut up and are now listening. The force is strong in these two. Still rocking in "22!
She did a really good job but can I just encourage everyone including myself to recognize how absolutely magic James Dewar was. Can you believe this song is over 50 years old. James doesn't put it in your face like this version but I do realize Ann is older now and I am sure the finesse is harder to pull off, but he draws you in and if you can lock on the tone and the subtle timing and vibrato changes let you know this man was an monster! One of the best!
Ann Wilson could sing the phone book and I'd listen. Love, love her voice and I agree her voice does seem to get better and better. Keep up the awesome work....
Ann Wilson has always been one of my favorite musicians. ❤ Great job on this Trower classic 👏 Trower is phenomenal. He definitely needs to inducted in the hall of fame.
I think this song is perfect for you to interpret. My favorite Robin Trower song. An air of mystery, it's un-worldly. Great song choice and what a great interpretation.
that is an unbelievable version of a classic Trower track. Ann Wilson is 73 years old FFS. she shouldnt be able to do that! what a performer, best female vocalist EVER!
Ann can cover any song and make it unique in her own way! Robin Trower would be proud of what this lady's done for rock and roll and put a smile on his face for Ann's cover of this song😊👍👏OUTSTANDING!!!!!!
Brilliant choise to cover this Robin Trower song. Glad to see i am not alone kinda "rediscovering" Robin Trower s music. The late James Dewar sang it and it grew into a great all time rock song.
Great cover of Trower’s “bridge of sighs”. An iconic 70’s rock masterpiece. Ann’s primal vocals, KWS’s screamin’ guitar riffs, and “Roger Dean” of YES fame’s artwork clinch it for me. The trifecta of rock & roll.
There is nothing this woman can't sing and not nail it completely!! I first saw Heart perform at the very first Louisiana Day of Rock and Roll in the Superdome, New Orleans, 1979. Still get chills from that stunning live performance. Ann Wilson is one of the rare vocalists of our time. She can sing anything; and when she does, she owns it! (As this cover of Bridge of Sighs attests.) Hope to get to see her perform this year in Nashville in June. Better get tix now -- it's already May 21st. Yikes!
I had seen Heart when they didn't have enough songs to carry a venue and they sang covers to fill in..I was sooo happy they carried me out of the disco garbage..r&r revival..and their covers we equal or better..I never stopped loving these talented people..music that fills you to the core
Just heard this rendition in my car for the first time and I literally could not get out until the song finished. Such powerful vocals and the guitar was riveting, the song went right through me. WOW!!!
Never forget hearing Trowers version of this for the 1st time, a rainy, wind blowing fall night coming home from a girlfriends & the dj threw this on…. I was BLOWN AWAY by how great it is & that I’d never heard it before, loved Robin Trower ever since
