'ANNA (Go to Him) '
"Anna (Go to Him)", or simply "Anna", is a song written and originally recorded by Arthur Alexander.
His version was released as a single by Dot Records on September 17th, 1962. A cover version was performed by the Beatles
and was included on their 1963 debut album Please Please Me

I played my Fender Stratocaster guitar, into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd Gen USB Audio Interface, then into a 'Reaper Mixing Software' programme to record the sound whilst playing to the backing track of :- 'Anna (Go to Him)'
Using Reaper & Guitar Rig, I produced the desired sound required and saved the finished soundtrack to my computer as a MP3 file.
Then I placed the camera footage onto the timeline in CyberLink PowerDirector19, 'BUT' I replaced the camera soundtrack with the 'NEW'
computer mixed soundtrack from Reaper and Guitar Rig, re-edited the footage to produce the finished video of :- 'Anna (Go to Him)'

Hi Ian - While I was waiting for the 5.00 pm premier to start I looked up the original Beatles recording of "Anna" and I'm ashamed to say I didn't know it !! Then hearing your instrumental - to me it sounded a lot better.. A really lively backing track ! ( Ryohei Kanayama certainly does great Beatles BT'S !!! ) And you played it great with a good sound !! Thanks for introducing me to a "New" to me Beatles song.. Cheers Phil

Hi Phil, there are so, so many songs out there which I didn't know existed....... As you might know, I spend a lot of time trawling RU-vid looking for different material etc and this one popped up last week. I noticed that the Beatles had recorded it and did exactly the same as you...... My latest arrangement was the outcome. Hi Ian, a new one to me and 61 years old. " Anna " sounds fantastic and like a R&B. The tone and the playing of/on the F Strat brilliant and so is the BT. Sure did enjoy your take on "" Anna (Go to Him) ". Hope the weather still continues to be enjoyable over there. Here the wet spell is still continuing and it is grey most of the times. I’m pleased to hear that you enjoyed your listen and your good comments are duly noted. Slow changes in the weather situation, becoming very autumnal now on an evening and days becoming a lot shorter. Sorry to hear your weather’s still not improving, it would seem there are times when the weather likes to show ‘us’ that its in control. A lovely Kenny G ballad for the weekend, one I have been playing for a while and now decided that I can’t do any more to improve on it. Did George Harrison play lead guitar on the Beatle version? I never heard the original by Arthur Alexander before. You are a veritable encyclopedia of music knowledge. I like your version a lot.

Thank you for your good comments my friend, I’m 99% sure George played lead on this track ……. Although I cannot 100% be sure. A track that was recorded on their ‘ Please, Please Me ‘ album in 1963. One of the few tracks the Beatles recorded and didn’t write themselves. Glad you liked my arrangement and thanks again for taking the time to comment.
