For this video, I’ll show and tell you about the beach communities on Anna Maria Island. There are three different cities on this island, those being, Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach.
Tourism on the island has only grown in the recent years… in 2020 they say that 683,000 people visited the island… where-as in 2021, as many as 969,000 people came through. These numbers are estimated off of traffic at the Sarasota and Bradenton Airport as the airport has seen a 156 percent boost in 2021 over 2020. Florida is just becoming a more and more popular place to visit… particularly the Sarasota and Bradenton area… in which Anna Maria Island, is the highlight destination of the region area by far and away… and the other beach communities such as Siesta, Lido and Longboat keys aren’t that far behind.

The video title says it all and you show it all including yet another beautiful drone view at the end. Never have been here and only vaguely aware of this place. Eveyone has their own thought as to what they like you to do the most. For me it remains the unique way you take us to a place and experience it as someone who lives there or has spent a lot of time there. May your excellent hard work enable you to be and dwell in places of paradise.

Lived on AMI for three years and loved it.. Wouldn't live there now, very busy and not the quaint island we fell in love with years ago. We still visit though, still better than most beaches in the US and we love the laid back feel.

My husband and I retired to West Bradenton from southwest Ohio three years ago and absolutely love it! We live in a beautiful neighborhood and go to Coquina Beach 4 mornings a week with a few of our neighbors. We live about 5 miles from the beach😊 The traffic can be a pain, but even worse than that are the no-see-um’s and mosquitoes!!! They are evil!!!

19:42 Cortez, a drinking village with a fishing problem... 😊😅😂 Coquina Beach at Longboat pass is another very nice Beach area not overcrowded and with lots of Public Access but most significantly lots of trees so you can actually get out of the sun when you want to (Australian pines an invasive species)

We alwats try to plan our arrival time at night and that really helps the bridge traffic. Once we are on the island we tend to stay for the most part. I think the first time I was there was about 35 years ago with my parents and it has changed so much, but it's still a really nice place. It's lost the Old Florida feel except for a few spots. But change happens, it's still a beautiful place.

I hate to admit it’s the busiest part of the year for me and I haven’t been able to watch these most recent videos in their entirety. I truly enjoy your videos and their quality. I look forward also to your Denver series. Also, adding, your videos always prompt a look thru Zillow for the zip code of your videos.

All good. All I’m saying is that for those who do like the videos, if they hit the like button and commented it’ll help the algorithm find the right audience for the Florida videos as they are different types of videos than what I’ve usually made so far. Most of mine have been from the Midwest.

I have a hunch that a trek through rural parts of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine would be huge hits. Especially northern coastal Maine towns with creepy history.

21:07 Anna Maria has a lot of restrictions on what can be built there because they were determined not to be another Longboat Key which is a long string of bars down the beach and almost exclusively rental properties or multi-family dwellings rather than single family and if your house suffers damage from a storm and 51 percent needs to be rebuilt it can only be rebuilt as a single family home regardless of what it originally was. The goal was family oriented population but it turned out to be like a lot of places here in Florida a place where blue and silver hair accumulates

That is actually one of two bridges to the island from mainland -and three total given one additional south to longboat key

I enjoy all of your vids. As for why your FL vids aren't as popular..I can only speak for myself as a long-time subscriber, but I prefer videos of relatively undiscovered, out-of-the-way, low-populated areas like the UP. These are great too, but I'm looking to dream about places where I can get away from it all, relatively off-grid. I'd imagine it's something that happened to a lot of us organically during the pandemic.

Chris, Longboat Key has license plate readers on both ends of Gulf of Mexico Drive to record all license plates coming and going off of the key. Longboat Key is very expensive. It is up there in price . Jet planes leaving the Sarasota Bradenton Airport are required to make an S turn leaving the airport to the north to minimize the noise going over Longboat Key.

16:35 the most popular yes but not the best in fact it's kind of the worst because it's usually crowded. All of Anna Maria Island is public beach but very few places have Public Access which makes most of the rest of the islands beaches more like private beaches and you can spend all day out there at Bean point on the Northern end and not see 10 people and on some days not see another living soul but by far the best places to hang out on the beach in Anna Maria Island or north of The Sandbar Restaurant with a conveniently located deck where you can enjoy lunch and drinks directly on the beach in your bathing suit and flip flops or even barefoot (my preference)

The decline in population along with the increase in home values shows how much corporate money is inflating home prices. To the point where individuals can't buy a home at all in an area. Unless you happen to be rich enough to buy a nine hundred thousand dollar house.

I can easily understand the decreasing permanent residents on a Florida island, and it's surprising that isn't also happening in other coastal parts of Florida proper as well. Increasing hurricane frequency, eroding shorelines, and insurance companies no longer willing to cover dwellings there (because it is too expensive to try to repair them umpteen times, much less re-claim the beach front that is getting thinner and thinner all the time.) Florida is already very hot, lots of bugs, etc. And you can't have a basement for your house or be buried underground in a coffin in most areas, because there is almost no topsoil. A great place to visit, but you have to be very motivated and very dedicated to live there. Florida is very beautiful, but it's basically an outcrop of coral and limestone just waiting to dissolve into the ocean. The indigenous groups who lived there thousands of years ago had ways to maintain their crops and communities in harmony with the realities of the landscape and the weather. But amusement parks and people in European style homes are probably facing an inevitable battle with mother nature in that location.
@302Mustang13
@302Mustang13 Год назад
I'd rather take my chances with Mother Nature than states like my current state of Illinois that is killing itself. The US has grown in the past 30 years greatly while Florida up by about 10 million while Illinois is essentially flat with decline in population in the past decade.
