Russian Figure Skater Anna Shcherbakova has already achieved a lot at the age of 15: Currently, she is a two-time Russian national champion (2019, 2020) and the first senior lady to land a quad lutz and two quad lutz jumps in a program. But she wants more: " I think of myself as a fighter. I may look fragile and small but at the same time, I try to show everything on the ice as a full-fledged adult skater." I think it’s really important for us to keep in mind that it’s so easy to criticize these girls’ performances online but they may be reading our comments and putting unnecessary pressure on them. I have nothing but good things to say about Anna and her peers in skating and wish them all the best. Whatever criticisms we may have I’m sure they’ve heard them already from their strict coaches.

Yes! While I do agree with some of them, people need to remember to be kind. No matter if she has bad technique in certain places...it’s important to share what you like about her instead of what you hate. All of these girls are so talented and lovely.

She's such a beautiful soul - impossible not to love her, and she's a freaking incredible dancer as well - you can tell on the Eteri training videos she has an innate proprioceptive awareness that, if she ever segued into dance after skating she could win a show like SYTYCD.

But I would also add to it - she is quite mature & smart for her age, and has got a proper sense of self-esteem & self-reflection, which combined will surely help her in future. Good luck at WC2020, Anechka🌸! And please don't take minor things to heart! Some things in sport are inevitable.., but trust you'll cope. As you're "all package", and truly, a fighter! The Russian word интелигентная , inteligentnaya, is not accurately translated. It does not mean precisely intelligent. In this context it is closer to 'highly cultured.'

@@psgrenier to be honest, I think there's not enough context to say so exactly, as the word has many shades of meaning. Depending on the context.. - yes. But I've actually re-read right now Alyona's interview where she originally used this feature to describe her teammate (in line with saying Anya is also 'calm'), so it should probably be Alyona herself to clarify if she meant 'cultured, well-mannered, well-educated, smart' or altogether in regards to Anya🙂. I believe the Russian "intelligent/интеллигентная", may comprise all these meanings at once. So, perhaps this was what she meant?))

Thank you so much Olympic for the interview and the subtitles!! Anna is such a smart and mature girl.. she always shows her good manners during interviews.. i think some people are too harsh when it comes to some of her jumps technique. Especially her quad lutz bcoz of her pre-rotated. Like what she said, she is aware of her imperfections. And who knows that she already tried so hard to make it perfect. I know it is not fair in judging score but Anna is not the only one to be blamed here.. We love you Anna!! Keep moving forward!! You got this!!😊😊 to Sasha, Rika, Aliona and other skaters too!!❤

Such a wonderful young lady. Skating is so tough and sometimes they peak at the wrong time for the olympics. I really hope she is able to find her very best for 2022. Right now she is IMHO the absolute best in the world.
