I’ve read many books about the Holocaust but this one is so different. I connect to her story; do my family’s genealogy, connecting to my Jewish background. I understand more about cellular memory.

I just finished reading The Postcard this week . I was interested to learn more about this author. I found this a medicore interview...being of European ancestry i had many more questions. To the author it was a moving, educational story. I cried so many times for the charachters and the people as a culture given current events . Thank you for bringing this book to english speakers. I would write Anne a letter if the address was clear.

The book meant a lot to me. I bought and read two copies, one in English and the other in the original French when it was published in 2021. And of course all of what Anne Berest said in this interview was interesting and compelling. But I wish the interviewer would stop the constant goofy grinning; I find nothing humorous or smile worthy when discussing the murders of her family, the Holocaust, and complicity among many.
