July 22 1941. The girl next door is getting married. Anne Frank is leaning out of the window of her house in Amsterdam to get a good look at the bride and groom. It is the only time Anne Frank has ever been captured on film. At the time of her wedding, the bride lived on the second floor at Merwedeplein 39. The Frank family lived at number 37, also on the second floor. The Anne Frank House can offer you this film footage thanks to the cooperation of the couple.

About the Anne Frank House
The Anne Frank House was established on 3 May 1957 in cooperation with Otto Frank, Anne Frank’s father. We are an independent non-profit organisation that runs a museum in the house where Anne Frank went into hiding and we try to increase awareness of Anne’s life story all over the world, encouraging people to reflect on the dangers of antisemitism, racism, and discrimination, and the importance of freedom, equal rights, and democracy.

Amazing! Yet it's a little spooky. We've only seen pictures but to see her in motion just brings her more to life. Unbelievable.

It's like seeing a ghost. A happy, young, beautiful ghost of a girl. A girl we learned about through her own words, but never had the chance to meet. It sometimes hits me as strange that people who are dead now are in films and such... R.I.P to the Frank family, and to all other victims of the terror that was Hitler.

Watching this makes me sad because it shows ordinary, everyday people living their lives and the nazi's came and took it all away.

This gave me the chills. I have seen photos of Anne before, but to see her like this brings it all into perspective...this happy laughing little girl watching the delight of a wedding; the soul and breadth of mind within one so young - only to be snatched away by hatred and fear and vile disdain for life... Rest in Peace, Anne - you are remembered.

We just visited The Anne Frank House in Amsterdam , yesterday. I read her book over and over as a young girl. My heart breaks over and over for her and family. Visiting the house was just the same . I am going to read it again. Her poor father losing them all .

Just read the Diary and then saw this. The 3-4 seconds Anne appears, that movement she makes is so "Anne-like", I can't explain it.

You can only imagine what she was thinking....maybe that she wanted to get married one day, and I wonder if she had her diary with her...? Wow!! That's truly incredible!! Unbelievable! I really love Anne Frank she is such an idol. If you are interested in the Frank's story search up 'interview with Otto Frank.'

It's very sad to see this video. I am currently reading her diary, and I stumbled upon this video. It is so horrible that Anne's life had to be tragically cut short, when she was so young. She often wrote about what she hoped for in the future in her diary, and it is terrible that Anne never made it that far. She had such beautiful hopes and dreams, and I am very honored that I have the chance to read her diary. She always thought of what life would be like after the War; perhaps she was thinking about getting married some day in this footage. RIP Anne. You will always be in our hearts.

I first read Anne Frank's diary during adolescence, and I think I had such a powerful connection with her due to the links in how I felt then (14-15) Like Anne, I enjoyed English more than Mathematics, and gained joy from Greek Mythology. I aspired to be a writer of journalist when I was older, and wrote a weekly diary. I felt that I had become more humble and thoughtful in my teen years than when I was 11/12 (I was more loud and obnoxious) then, just like Anne, and believed I was a better person for it. I also began thinking more about morality and trying to be a better person. The similarities actually shocked me...

She had the courage to dream, beyond those walls. She was a prisoner in the attic, but her spirit was free and that's how her words reaches out to so many and she lives although we can't see her

I have just finished reading her diary for the first ever time. And the most heartrending part by far was her last entry. Anne, you will live in my heart not forever but for as long as I live because everyone has to die someday. But I wish you didn't have to die as soon as you did. RIP Anne, Margot, Peter, Mr Frank, Mrs Frank, Mrs Van D. and Mr Van D.

I get so sad when I think of her and her family but worse her father was the only one who lived out of the 8 people who were in hiding. He had to live with those memories until his death in 1980. Worse...if they all stayed hidden a few more months the war would've been over and they would've been together :( :(

It's sad to see her, from doing what anyone else would do, showing interest in a neighbour's wedding, to be forcibly taken away and imprisoned in a Nazi camp where she eventually died. The effort who betrayed the family must be a real Yutz 1st class with honours.

Tremendous to see such footage, and also a strange sensation to see a Netherlands, somehow familiar across time to me, from many visits to see my in-laws, it makes it seem more....personal and profoundly moving. Seeing that film, and realising that in the near future that vivacious young girl would be so confined only to be tested further on the family's betrayal, and a death so close to liberation. So sad.
