I actually have no idea why people hate Anne Hathaway. She's one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood today and she never did anything offensive...what the hell is wrong with people?
Happy don't really complain about others. It's the bitter, insecure people who try to focus on hating someone else rather than themselves. People focus more energy on hating others than admiring others. Justin Bieber and the Kardashians annoy me, but instead of exclaiming about how I dislike them, I just try not to think about them that much.

Conspiracy theory here: She garnered unwarranted hate because she's become a threat to Hollywood status quo. With her involvement and fight for diversity, pro-LGBTQ, women's rights, and other social injustices, she's indirectly dismantling Hollywood's foundation. I mean, just read through the comments even just on RU-vid. Common people like you and me appreciate and love her for who she is and what she stands for, it's just faceless mass media attacking her for petty reasons.
Because she's smart, beautiful, down-to-Earth, successful and prefers to work with male producers. They're pretty upset about the latter, and in combination with the former, that's the catalyst for political incorrectness. So the liberal left attacks her success. Mind you, if she said she prefers to work with female producers, nobody panics because it's all part of the plan... You know the rest.

It is because she is an actress, a glorified court jester we pay to dance for our amusement, and yet she seems to think herself some kind of moral arbiter above the rest of us where she can preach down to us plebs on how we should live and think from up on her pedestal. I've heard that she had been branded the "most hated celebrity in hollywood" and RIDICULOUS stuff like that, which makes no sense to me at all, I have watched Anne since my mother took my 6 year old self to the theater to see Princess Diaries. I've even asked other people "you know apparently Anne Hathaway has been voted most hated?!" and NOBODY shares that view. Nobody! There is simply nothing to hate! From teen Disney star who NEVER went off the rails, to Academy Award Winner, she has not done anything that could be hated. Maybe her success is what jealous people hate.
Second that!! Always loved her (still do) and I actually don't know anyone who hates or deslikes her, it's just people who feel powerful behind a computer and say mean and senseless things!
I got treated badly by schoolmates for a while because I was always cheerful and brushed it off, motivated to focus on better things than what others thought (since clearly optimism and doing your own thing was somehow bad). I agree that perhaps since she's achieved so much at such a young age and she hasn't done anything drastic, people would think she got to the top too easy which is not the case at all, but people are ignorant and need a target. I just had no clue why it was Anne of all people.

Anne is just so beautiful, so soft spoken and intelligent. She's also an EXTREMELY talented actress with what seems to be a great heart, wise mind and really wonderful intentions. I adore her. She's probably one of the greatest actresses of all time.

I've always loved her, she is a wonderfully talented actress with a wonderful singing voice, a great sense of humor and oh my God I just couldn't believe it. I love her!!! I'm 13 years old, Anne Hathaway has been my favorite actress and idol since I could comprehend what that meant. She's just such an amazing person inside and out. I watched Ella enchanted everyday when it first came out on dvd, on the sole fact I loved Anne. I really hope everyone takes this advice, and I really hope Anne knows how many supporters she has. American society is very cynical. Therefore, we seem to have this unconscious hatred of people who are happy, successful, and confident. I can understand this, as I was a cynical teenager (in hindsight, I was even a really cynical nine-year-old) and it's something that I still fight against. It mostly stems from insecurity and envy. Just know that shaming others for being more privileged, happy, nice, confident, or successful is not going to make you any happier. You're merely self-perpetuating your cynicism and dissatisfaction with your own life. Just some thoughts...

She should show humility, instead of becoming delusional and ignoring the criticism of the other people that may be valid. You are not going to be hurt by criticism that isnt correct, you're just going to brush it off. It only hurts if it's on point. She couldn't handle the truth, so she ignored it. It's that simple.

This is a good definition for me as my upbringing and current situation require a certain degree of defense for preventing physical or emotional damage. A moderate amount of cynicism is necessary to prevent people from making naive judgments about a person or a group. Replace cynical with insecure.
I admit she's not my favourite actress, however, why do people need to hurt her? If she's not your type, just move on and watch movies of actresses you like. Full stop. I am sure she has a lot of fans, and seems to be a really cool and nice person. The word "Hate" is a very strong word to use for someone you see only on a TV screen.

That was a great little speech Ellen gave at the end. People shouldn't mistake someone being emotional with them being weak. And even if someone were to be weak, who in the world are we to spread rumors and make their life worse than it already is? I wish bullies would just put themselves into the shoes of the victim and realize how hurtful they are.
The self-love bit really struck a cord with me and I kept re-playing that part. Anne has now inspired me to go on the self-love and acceptance journey. I think we should all be at a point where we never listen to other people's comments because WE KNOW WHO WE ARE and dont need validation :)

Anne Hathaway is beautiful inside and out, kind, graceful, and really strong. Everyone just hates on her because either they're jealous or because in comparison to jennifer lawrence she doesn't exude a self-deprecating type of humor which makes people nowadays believe attest to how grounded you are. it's like because she's so sweet and slightly awkward it's seen as "fake" and used against her. just because she's not your cup of tea that's no reason to hate her though. she's extremely talented and hardworking and I hope to see more of her in the future! wishing you all the success and happiness, Anne :) I look up to you.
I've liked Anne Hathaway and can never get why people dislike her so much? She seems like a genuinely nice person. Why do people love bringing other people down is what I don't get and on top of knowing that words can kill they still go ahead and do it. What's moving about this is the blush, or rash on Anne's neck. It shows how this is still affecting her emotionally. Her voice indicates this too. And talking about it in public is difficult. But talking about it openly like this helps her in her ongoing journey to overcome it completely.

She is a very good actress, and she seems to be that kind of person that when has to do something works hard. Maybe some people are annoyed by that, maybe they prefer the "i don't give a damn" attitude of Jennifer Lawrence, but i don't see how you can write things like "shut up bitch, we hate you anyway". Hate is kind of a strong word to use for someone you don't even know and also for someone who hasn't done really nothing harmful to deserve it.
I've loved Anne every since Princess Diaries and cheered out loud when she won that Oscar! Her performance in Les Mis was OUTSTANDING! Every interview I see with her she seems like such a fun and genuinely nice person. So people who are going to say rude things about other people can shut up and start being a little kinder. i've heard so many people say things like "learned to love myself", "kept on living", "got to know who I was" etc...Yes, but what does that mean? For the person struggling with depression and cyber bullying they need a bit more than these popular sayings.
Those lines sound cheesy for one who doesn't suffer from such a problem. However, for the person struggling with depression and manage to get over it, those popular lines magically appears to be extremely meaningful and can be understood deeply. (Speaking of my own experience.) I'm pretty sure Anne understand those words deeply.

I always liked Anne, but as of late, I've seen more of her that I love. I saw her speech when she won that ally award and this. She really is an amazing person and I hope to run into her one day! I live in Cape May (when I'm not at school!) and my brother actually ran into her once. I would love to at some point and just tell her what she has said has done great things for me. I'm here for Ellen too! Ellen is awesome! I LOVE ELLEN! Nobody...well, actually everyone knows how much! It's one of the things that defines me because I express it so much!
