I am 74 and remember singing this song in church choir as a young girl. It was my favorite. Then when I was about 60, my late husband and I bought a farm on 5 acres. I planted tons of flowers and several roses. In the early mornings if it was nice, I would walk out to the garden and sing that song. I didn't care if anyone heard me, just wanted Jesus to hear me. It is still my favorite hymn.

Here I am at 74 and, listening to this hymn sung by my favorite female singer of all times, tears feel my eyes. Thank you Canada for giving this world such a beautiful person with that great heavenly voice.
This is my brother singing. He died in February at 87 years old. This song was for his new bride. They were married for 67 years. It was truly one love for one life time.

This was my late husband's favourite song from his childhood. I played it on his memorial service in church eight years ago. Every time I hear this song plays I miss my husband dearly.
I'm 75 and my grandmother and grandfather sang this song as a duet and I have never forgotten this song. My favorite hymn . I love this song and when feeling depressed I listen to this song. So inspirational
On this "Mother's Day", the first one for me since she passed, this was the song she loved the most in her religious studies. Anne Murray does such a wonderful job with song. God bless us all.
I was just thinking about how my dad was MIA when I was a child. I was crying, healing tears, and this song came on. He is walking with me. Praise God. no bitterness towards my Dad. He did not have a childhood. He worked away from home as a child during the depression. I am my Beloved's and He is mine. His banner over me is love.
Through the ages this song continues to be a blessing to many souls who live in the presence of the Lord. This was the first song I sang as a solo at 12 years old. I always treasure this beautiful song that is so reassuring to all God’s children who are in prayerful contact with Him and listens to his voice as He speaks through His Holy Spirit.
I have Always Loved Anne Murray since the early 70's. I Love " In the Garden" . It is my #1 Funeral Song when my Time Comes...First One as a Child, even before starting 1st Grade. Probably 3 or 4 yrs old. I am 64 now. And Unless Jesus Comes Back First, this will be it.God Bless You Anne, and God Bless All...

It's a hymn that I used to sing to myself when I went to the farm. When my granddaughters visit my farm, I hope that this hymn will flow out of their minds without their knowledge.
Grandad, your words hit all the right notes. I'll be the never-stopping hummer of this song, always carrying the dreams you've planted for us. Thank you for the lovely present to open before Christmas!
Remembering my favorite Aunt who who went home to be with her Lord and Savior more than four decades ago. In The Garden and Old Rugged Cross were her two favorite hymns. This is beautiful, Ann . . . From the beautiful, tranquil Islands of The Bahamas 🌴🏖️🌅🇧🇸

Unmistakable voice. When that first beautiful note comes from her mouth, you know it's the remarkable, Anne Murray. As smooth as silk. Pitch perfect. Amazing...
An amazing hymn sung by a beautiful soul🎵Ever comforting🎵 Listening to Anne s rendition is part of my morning and evening prayers🎵 Blessings to you, Anne and all who may read this comment💓🌈
All the way down in South Africa your music is loved... Your voice is truly one of a kind, so soothing. I'm heading towards 80 years of age and appreciate your singing and choice of music... Thank you Anne.... Keep on singing and brightening our lives.
This was one of my mom's favorite songs + Rock of Ages. She died three days after she turned 60 and the vocalist sang them both at her funeral. I remember sitting at her feet when I was little and she was rocking my little sister singing these great hymns. I hate a lot of the new age music they play nowadays I miss the old ones.
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,,
This is my father's favorite hymn. I have heard him singing this countless times, from when he rocked me to sleep to the moments in church services as he held my hand after momma died. Over the next seven years while living with me, he would occasionally sing this hymn as his dementia progressed. Now, he no longer recognizes the lyrics or tune and I am so heart-broken: this was my sweet daddy's song and dementia has robbed him of it. Regardless of his cognitive stage, I will keep playing and singing this song to him because there may come a time he may be blessed with a bit of clarity to once again realize his love for the melody and meaning of the message of the song.

this song has been in my heart since 1967.... however the joy it brings to my heart has caused MANY fist fights with other children and WORSE TEAMMATES in sports who dont know WHY i was happy ALL the time. and so not wanting to injure a "teammate" i stopped playing sports, i stopped school, i ALMOST stopped living (I was born and raised in California. WHEN I was able to be a truck driver and worked for 10 years OUT of California and all 48 states in 2006 I felt as happy with life as when i was in 1966 BEFORE going to school. HIGHEST point was 2016 with the election of Trump. but when my mother died I had to stop doing all 48 states to be close to my wife and father in the SF bay area, and the old oppression nearly crushed me in march 2020 and I KNEW what was coming in nov 2020..... THIS and many other OLD hymns and SINGERS have re-ignited my EDUCATION and SOUL and helped me pass my happiness to others.... though doing so has meant upsetting others to the point of violence against me again here at nearly 60. BUT i can gladly wearther this storm FINALLY with the help and experience of my memories all ALL 48 contiguous states. GOD BLESS THE USA!
Monkey paw: Amen, Brother! Mad dawg here. I hear ya man, but personally think I wouldn’t want to go beatin the beejeezus outer some moron cause they be stupid. They is just that way naturally, don’t you think? However I’ll come right over if’s they dares to critize Ms Murray here cause I believe she means everything she sings, don’t you? By the way, another one of my favorites is the late Andy Griffith and his recordings of good old gospel hymns. ‘When the roll is called up yonder,’ he does especially good! You might look him up on the RU-vid, when you have time. Well, have a good day, Brother! Over and out. P. S. Keep on the sunny side!

This was my grandfather's favorite hymn. I moved into my small RV in 2021 after the death of my husband. I named it Andy because Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me. Andy tells me I am his own. ❤
Thanks Anne for a beautiful and moving rendition of a beautiful old hymn. I’m in my 70’s and have enjoyed your singing immensely from back when you first started. Thank you again.
I am Jewish. I went with a friend to Ohio to visit his grandparents who lived on a farm; his grandmother was a minister. On Sunday I went with the family to their little church in the wildwood and to my total surprise in the middle of the service his grandmother introduced me and said I would decide on the hymns that day. I had no problem doing that because I always loved sacred music whatever the religion. This was the first song I chose. After the service we went back to the farm for Sunday dinner and I asked the grandmother why she even thought I would know any Christian hymns and she replied, "I just knew." I knew this song because,, of all things, a recording by the Andrews Sisters, who did a sacred album for Decca Records in the early 1950s. I was a big Andrews Sisters fan and chose for my stage name as a singer Jim Andrews.
Jim Andrews: Wasn’t that a wonderful experience? I am Protestant and appreciate your wonderful and often turbulent Jewish history and heritage. As we notice even today people of faith are still being persecuted. I have been gifted with the dearest of friends who were Jewish and shared some very beautiful occasions with me. Several survived the horrors of the holocaust. I loved them so much, they share a spot in my heart and inspire me. Peace, friend. Elizabeth
Hello Jim. I am a messianic Jewish person meaning I know YESHUA as THE MaShiach. Isaiah 53 tells of a suffering servant who was despised, rejected,, a man of sorrows and a man of grief. HE was wounded for My transgressions, bruised for My iniquities. Pierced. And with HIS stripes I am healed. Brought as a LAMB to be slaughtered.. He didn't say a word. No greater love has a man than to lay down HIS life for HIS friends. AMEN!!! Shabbat SHALOM 🙏
What a beautiful, sweet hymn. I learned that one when I too, was a little girl. Only I attended a Baptist church. I never heard the third verse before now. I'll write it down so I can add it to my devotional time. Imagine, walking and talking with Father God. Thanks Anne. It was so beautifully done with such a lovely voice. It brought a tear with remembering.🥲
Thank you Anne Murray , for singing such a BEAUTIFUL-SONG ! A SONG WITH DEPTH AND MEANING . Thank-God for such a WONDERFUL-MEMORY ! THESE ARE THE KIND OF MEMORIES , TO HOLD ONTO AND CHERISH !
Wonderfully done! I think of my Mom that passed away over 25 years ago. I couldn't listen or sing this song in church without crying. Now I sing it while I work in my garden, especially when there is dew on the roses.
I experience similar feelings, and often shed a tear or two. You and I can be certain our dearest ones are singing this beautiful hymn in Heaven and we’re hearing Angels. My mother always had a small bouquet of roses ready to share. I love you, Teresa, wherever you are. Keep the faith til we meet one glorious day.🙏🏼 elizabeth
Thank you for singing this song I sing it almost every day because l met JESUS in a glorious day in my garden and He introduced me to The Holy Spirit from Whom flowed peace joy and an Amazing Communion with GOD
I love this song so much. I sing it every day in my garden. My grandmother, also a gardener, used to listen to it when I was a little girl and I fell in love with it Will always be my favorite.

I have always enjoyed her music and love her version of this hymn. "In the Garden " was played at my oldest sister's funeral and my sister, Sara, loved her roses and she also loved our Savior. May God bless.

It's not an uncertain time. Read Jesus' warnings in Matthew Ch. 24 and we are at Book of Acts Ch. 2:19 and the next 2 lines are only beautiful for all:) A spiritual redeemed Jew. Jesus gave me this vision 3 months after He redeemed me in March 2013. "The 666 man will come out of the church and announce he is a homosexual at a pageant." God and Jesus (see Daniel 11:37 in the Douay-Rheims Holy Bible; next closest KJV) Jesus will save many, both Jew and Gentiles, see Apocalypse/Book of Revelation Ch.7) Praying for all; the peace of Jerusalem and all world leaders. Jesus' least, little disciple, Laurie
As a Presbyterian minister, her comments touched me. This is an old familiar hymn to older generations. Comforting and lovely and her rendition is perfect.
God of infinite time remember these tender words as if they were just spoken today .This is Anne's statement of her true heart to ever be with you Father. Let it be so BY THE LOVE OF CHRIST JESUS.
I just came across this. I love the old hymns. In the Methodist church we sing a lot of the old songs. Anne's version has a nice old time country sound to it. And her daughter is on the background vocals. Anne's the greatest - my favorite singer.
