one thing I use is Tempalac. it can be purchase at midway USA. I use the 750 deg material. it is a liquid. You paint it onto the neck shoulder and body to below where you want it annealed. Run it through and it turns clear. If too hot it will turn black. and where it is to cool it will not turn (green). This is the best control you can have. It is used throughout the industry to check oven temperatures. Just thought I would mention it if someone was interested. I love the turnbuckle. I changed mine out to it and it works great.
@@gerrymatheson4020 watch this to the end , you cant over anneal brass unless you melt or deform it... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2yOtCQsfJhU.html
You have to hold the 750 degrees for 1 hour to properly anneal the brass. You need 1050..ish degrees to anneal the brass correctly. Do the research. Do not believe the maker of this machine because the machine is flawed and will melt the wheels very easily if you anneal your brass correctly. That is why I had to put aluminum wheels on my Gen 1 machine.
Sir, I just stumbled onto your videos a couple of days ago and I subscribed because you and UR offer the most informative and succinct reloading instruction on RU-vid. I also enjoyed the cooking video that I watched and think I'll be making use of them. Thank you.
Thanks Terry, I know my cooking doesn't really go along with all the gun stuff, but I figured we all eat so why not eat some good food..! Thanks for checkin out the channel..
Thank you.! We might be slowing down a bit on the videos for a couple months. We are working on something new I think everyone will really enjoy.! Stay tuned and thanks for checking out the channel..!
I've been looking on the forums for a good used Annealeez for a couple of months with no success. The two or three units that I've seen have sold in a matter of an hour or two and I missed them. That must speak very highly of it since nobody wants to get rid of theirs. Looks like I'm going to be ordering one this weekend.
Appreciate your video brother i do have 1 question? Is the Annealeez just as good as the AMP Annealing machine. I can't see paying 1400.00 for a machine vs 250.00 roughly. I would like your input brother.
I use a drill motor with a socket attachment with a torch bottle , there's no way I would pay that much thanks for the video I enjoy your channel any way
talking rock I totally get it.! In fact I did the same thing your doing for years.! It works well actually.! For anyone who doesn’t want to pay for a machine, that’s the way I recommend..! Either way, thanks for watching.! Curt
A hundred years ago I was taught how to anneal for making wildcats. Deprime, stand them up in a glass dish. Sprinkle sand to hold cases from tipping. Fill with water to just below the point you want annealed. Start at the closest side with a torch. Heat to dull red. Was that wrong?
Hi, I'm in the middle of building one of these, but I can't get hold of the black nylon wheel that transfers the brass from the hopper. I presume it's nylon? Could you give me the details you used in your internet search to find this type of item? Also, could you give me it's width, depth, and center hole diameter. I'm in the UK. Thank-you in advance. J.
There are many myths about annealing. Myth Number 1 is overheating the case neck ruins the brass. Myth Number 2 Quenching hot brass in water hardens it. Myth Number 3. Is that you resize the brass before annealing. Annealing always slightly deforms the brass because it is stress relieving the metal. You should always resize brass AFTER annealing. If you heat the neck to red hot, the brass is NOT ruined. Resize after annealing. I have been resizing AFTER annealing for over 40 years and do not recall ever collapsing a case resizing it from overheating the neck. Summary: 1. Resize after annealing to reform to proper dimensions after stress relieving the metal. Heating case neck to red hot does NOT ruin them if you resize after annealing. 2. Do not anneal the lower half of the case, neck and shoulder only. 3. Annealing highly increases the life of the case. I have 243 brass formed from 308 over 30 years ago that has been fired so much I have lost track of the number of firings. Regular annealing does increase the life of the case by a large amount.
Alpha6five annealing make brass cases softer. They become "work hardened" from firing. When they get to hard, you'll start to have issues resizing and you can start splitting necks and shoulders if the brass gets to hard. Annealing bring the neck and shoulder back to a more pliable state extending the brass life.
Vaughn Precision ok thanks 👍. I'm starting to see when I seat the bullet, my OGIVE measurements are a few thousands off ! Would this be the reason? They are on their 4th reload. Thank you
DID you get it with the turn buckle to hold the torch? IF so they changed their design. someone on you tube came up with it and it is much better than the old what they used to hold it. That would mean they listen to their users. That is outstanding if they did do that.
I anneal Lake City 30-06, .308 and .223 military brass. There is nothing wrong with the brass, actually I prefer it over commercial brass. Lake City .223 with Reloader 15 and 80gr Sierra MachKing will shoot all day long out of my National Match Armalite AR15 at Camp Perry. It's a 600 yard load and we shoot X's up and down the line with no scope just iron sights "no offense Vaughn your still a cool guy, scopes just aren't for me".
i tell you what I have problems with.. the flame will start to get shorter on me as a anneal the cases, so I will have to adjust the flame and some get annealed more than others which is causing me inconsistent annealing. Do you have that problem? If so how do you deal with it? thanks
My guess would be you’re having temperature fluctuations of your bottle. As propane leaves the tank, it vaporizes and takes heat with it. This lowers the temperature of the bottle and decreases internal pressure of the bottle. So you’ll have to figure out a way to keep the bottle warm.
Super video. Would you have a contact phone number for this company? I emailed them to find out what wheels I order for 338 Lapua Mag, and got no answer.
Horvik Horvvath unfortunately I don’t. I know they’ve had issues with email in the past, you might want to find them on Facebook and contact them that way.
WRONG WRONG WRONG... You are not annealing that brass at that speed and temp. Do the research, ask a metallurgist. People are relying on your videos for advise and knowledge, and you are failing!!
