We sang it together and would repeat the end credits of Dracula repeatedly when I was little. Lost her three years ago today ❤️ such a hauntingly, beautiful song.

Funny story. I remembered LOVING this song. Bram Stoker’s Dracula was on and I let the credits play. I heard this song and BOOM! I made the connection. I never realized this song was made for a movie, much less Dracula. A very pleasant surprise over 2 decades later.

Every time I hear/play this song I think about my own rarest rose that ever deigned to bloom: my daughter Gracie. This song reaches out to me stronger than ANY other song every has and always produces tears…Very sadly she passed away on the day she was born after 11 hours in 2004. We will be together again one day.

A song I return to, because it has left such a powerful memory. It can be interpreted to death, but, its really about the love one feels for another. Gender has no place. This track is so beautifully done by Lennox, you may remember "Bram Stoker's Dracula," or the powerful song during the end credits. "They shine for you." always gets me.

I'm surprised to see no-one got the actual meaning behind the song. A few years before the movie was released, she lost her son Daniel who was stillborn. "Once I had the rarest rose , That ever deigned to bloom. Cruel winter chilled the bud And stole my flower too soon." talks about losing her baby to before it was even born. It makes the song so much more chilling and explains why she has so much emotion in her voice while singing it. This song is not about vampires, it's about a mother having lost her son ...

A soundtrack felt through emotion, feelings & heart along with the classic, iconic, and legendary film it is with a perfect storyline, soundtrack, cast, action as well as emotion. A film that is ageless, way ahead of its time, and even with age is still perfect. A film that captured Dracula completely and perfectly from the original origins with another master performance by the legendary Gary Oldman (like he always does) & Anthony Hopkins who both just leads it fantastically alongside carries it with an iconic as well as unforgettable performance (like they always do) but literally both went above & beyond, literally sealing the movie to be one of the greats which of course it is and of course a young Keanu all nailing their performances, directed by the legendary Francis Ford Coppola with another legendary unforgettable masterpiece film. Not only that but literally, both Anthony Hopkins & Gary Oldman with one of the greatest performances in cinema history as well, truly unforgettable, memorable, iconic & legendary both of them are along with this film.

This saves a mess of a movie. The film was all over the place, like the actors all had different directors... and how Keanu ever worked again is a miracle after that performance... yet Winona and Oldman salvaged something and the soundtrack was great.
