And what a pretty name it is.May your daughter grow to be like Annie Murphy who seems to be humble and well grounded and beautiful. And may she have a bit of Alexis in her too who is kind and stylish an endearingly quirky 🙂 I love all the Roses but Alexis is my favorite. IMO no other actress could have done a better job as Alexis than Annie Murphy.
Between the writing for Alexis' character and Annie's acting bringing it to life, that character went through the biggest arc of all the characters. In the end, her portrayal of Alexis was moving.
Yes, agreed. It's such a fine line she rode! The changes were believable. The characteristics that kind of never changed or would reappear were believable. And it was truly moving. Such a subtle thing she and the writers did. Quite beautiful.
Her eyes are so expressive. She seems like a really cool person, she's intelligent, articulate, immensely talented. I'm glad she managed to turn her life around, I'm glad we got to meet her through Schitt's Creek. The Emmy was well-deserved, I'll be following her career.
She has a biiiittt of Alexis' mannerisms but the way she carries herself is totally different. One thing that always impressed me when I watch the show is how similar Alexis' & David's mannerisms and facial expressions are. They make such believable bickering siblings. Imagine my surprise when I found out that Twyla is actually Dan Levy's sister!
She really did, didn't she. She somehow never let Alexis become a caricature. And she made her character development feel real. "She always hit every not perfectly." Indeed, and amazing.
Alexis is such a great character that required expert writing (and acting). She has a non-obvious depth in her emotions and intelligence that makes her touching moments so powerful.
So true. Well put. She prances on early on and we think, "Oh, we've seen this character before." But nope, not so quick. The changes are so subtle and naturalistic, that, yes, the moving moments are super powerful.
Alexis was definitely the best character. On the surface she was a vapid socialite but literally right under that thin layer was a genuinely kind intelligent worldly person with a heart of gold that grew so much over six seasons.
I know that Annie has been doing plenty of commercial product endorsements since Schitt's Creek ended, but I didn't realize that a soy product was in the mix. What product and brand please? I'd like to give it try myself.
@@angeliquemariel2916 Really? I'd assumed since you'd stated you "love her soy", that you would have known the brand you purchased. I've searched but I still haven't had any luck finding the brand she endorses. Sigh.
She's wonderful onscreen and I'm kind of shocked she wasn't scooped up by another project before Schitt's Creek got lucky & hired her. There's an incredible warmth underlying Alexis that just continues to blossom. The writing, of course, is key. But her acting and her intelligent approach to projects should carry her onwards to a great, long career. She was the perfect choice. David and Alexis are my favorite TV siblings. All the characters seemed to have true connections to each other. Beautiful.
I love Alexis so much. She's such a layered character. She seems like a meangirl and an absolute airhead, but deep down she's not. She is so intelligent and kind. Love it!
That's a huge compliment to an actor, I think. And the writers. She's pretty real to me too. Most of my "real" characters come out of the show Deadwood, but this show is absolutely beautiful and I feel like many of the characters truly exist.
I watched all the episodes of Schitts Creek 4 times and I'm very happy for her but no matter what I'm always going to see Alexis somewhere in everything Annie does, I can't help it!!!
A incredible talent. Who can’t she play is a better question. She better be getting handed more roles and get her pick. She’s box office gold. She’s loveable. She’s talented. I hope we have more to see of her.
Annie Murphy you are an Excellent Actress, hope to see you alot more in Sitcoms and Movies. Wishing You the Very Best in Life ❣️ from Albuquerque NM USA 🇺🇸☮️
After seeing clips from her other acting gigs, I think there's really something special here. She obviously always will be iconic as Alexis, but I think she has it in her to one day collect an Oscar. And I think that "it" factor is part of what gave Alexis so much depth.
Whether she is a little bit Alexis, she is all Annie. She is such a versatile actress/actor that is so underrated. Kudos to a Canadian with super talent. I really hope you get to explore many, many other acting opportunities. Good luck!
Alexis grew the most out of everyone on the show. She was great! Also as a man who wears condoms with my wife because we tried the pill and it seemed like torture for her, I really hope a non-hormonal option works for a lot of women. Old school birth control pills were awful for my wife
Excellent, awesome actor among the many other ones whom landed on such an adventurous, fun show.Sorry to have seen it end its fun, but smart smart move. Reruns are available from first season so enjoying once again.awesome actors chosen for their character each portrayed.
shes a wonderful actress and im so proud of her!!! she seems very likable and she really has that quality of being super captivating and you can sense the energy she brings in and outta character !!!
I just started season 4 of Schitt's Creek, and I have no idea how to choose a favorite character. I love Alexis, but every time I think I've settled on a favorite, the next scene makes me change my mind. What a wonderful show.
Schitt's Creek was so much fun....but Kevin Can F Himself is a masterpiece! I can not wait to see what she does next in her career! Love love love Annie Murphy!
I'm only half way through this & I love her soo much. Recently (2022) binged the series & it's joined my go-to comedies... Community, Parks & Recreation, Gavin & Stacy, 30 Rock et cetera. Bloody brilliant.
Bradley, I've watch Schitt's Creek three times in a row. I don't think I can wring a third time out of it. Do you think Community can, at least partly, fill the gap?
@@nspector It's a little up & down- it was made by a lunatic & had a least one more in the cast- but I do love it. Very funny in very different way from Schitt's.
