It's crazy! I had a RU-vid recommendation of the song "twisted Lobotomy"... A song I hadn't heard because I've only really listened to Alison Hell, Word Salad etc era Annihilator... "Twisted Lobotomy" freaking slays, shows his vocal arrangements are unique and spot on. Even more than that, I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT WAS ACTUALLY STILL HIM. by far the most healthy looking from the era. Voice still intact, still plays with real energy. Dude looks young.
I just love how bare their stage setup is for a fest. Annihilator doesn't need pyrotechnics or an entire ensemble. The music speaks for itself. Holy fuck they're precise.
I just found this band and I have played for 25 years. Dude is a savage. Actually listening to this to learn the guitar. Criminally underrated shredder. I was at my brothers house and he was watching some old school MTV and this was on Metal Mayhem and I was in shock that these guys are not known by everyone for the guitar licks. Super clean playing.
This is the most Canadian frontman performance I've ever seen in my life, and goodness me the sound is absolutely amazing for a live set. The drums sound gorgeous.
@@stinkypinkeee5085 fucking oath. Roadracer was killing it, they gave us Sepultura Obituary Xentrix type o negative and heaps more bands I wonder what happened to em. Did they become roadrunner records cause sepo went to roadrunner
Is nobody gonna talk about how Jeff is doing the vocals and is still stupid tight?? Annihilator pretty much always had frontmen while Jeff was doing guitar work. This is insanely impressive
Actually he is not a very good singer, more like average. But I guess he had no choice here, the bands lineup has never been stable which are sad, because with a guy like Jeff writing songs there is so much potential. But a stable lineup does always help, it also keeps spirit up. And Jeff is such an amazing guitarist, one of my all time favourites! And the fact he sings here and still plays as tight as usual is amazing. And for the same reason I respect Mustaine a lot.
I've been always impressed about the live sound of Annihilator, they sound great and really fresh, the tone is incredible like they're in the studio, great performance.
I am so glad I came across this band they are awesome especially this song it’s my favourite Ive got it on my Spotify play list too, shame randy is gone but at least they are still going strong.
They know they are the shit, they know they sound perfectly tuned, they know they have one best of a drummer and they know the boss is bloody Jeff Waters; so it's ok to be cocky.
Saw Annihilator with Testament & Wrathchild America at the S. Hills theater in Pittsburgh, in 1989. Man I was a young pup then! Great bill and kick ass tunes. Randy Rampage singing for them at the time, but it's cool to see Jeff singing here. Retaining a singer was always a sore spot for these guys apparently!
Despite the fact that I've always felt that Annihilator is Canada's answer to Megadeth since the 80s it's hard to deny that they've made some great songs and albums through the years. And Jeff Waters is one of the most underrated guitar players in Metal. Daresay if there was no Dave Mustaine we would probably be talking about him in that way. Either way, Annihilator is Canadian Metal royalty up there with Razor and Anvil and deserve more praise. This classic song of theirs is evidence of that. \mm/
Hammerhed brought me here lmfao! Ive been a fan since highschool in late 80s and they would be impressed by Hammerheds cover! 3 kids with about 40 years of life between em.
