It might just be me, but there something satisfying when claiming islands in a new expert game when you get what you want. Alternatively, anxiety induced if you don't get what you want. 🤣

This motivated me to play with 3 star AIs as well. But I didn't go all the way, with things like influence and income on medium, and large islands. I think that was a really, really bad call, as I'm not enjoying this whatsoever now. The AI has reached a point of insignificance, meaning I just need to clear them now with my armada of ships of the line (around engineer level currently). It's not a challenge, it's just an annoyance right now. I should've gone all the way like you, so it would actually be a battle for survival. That sounds fun. Or just have not bothered in the first place and added bente and willie or such, just for the flavor. As it stands, it's stressful without that feeling of surviving something difficult. So, word of warning to all others reading this: Don't half-arse it like I did. If you're not challenged, you'll only end up being annoyed you have to mop up islands 1 by 1 (with repair trips inbetween) instead of actually having a nice challenging experience. Save yourselves the trouble of just mopping up the map and instead play with easy AIs from the get go, or do it like Takarazuka and embrace the challenge.

I'm torn, I want to see this be successful but I really feel like you cheesed the beginning. You ran some simulations to figure out the best start, knew what to start with so you could take out an AI before anything got going and got their materials to basically give you 2 islands to start with absolutely no fear, because now you were 1 AI light and had all the materials to get started. I know, war, do what needs done, bla bla, it was still cheesy and not a true full max difficulty start. Not hating, just sharing. Still loving it, I just have that thought that keeps staring at me from the corner, very creepy.

Hey bro tnk u for ur videos they are the best of anno1800. I ve just bought this game which expansion u suggest to prioritise??? There are many and I d prefer to sorting them from the “must have” to the “most aesthetical” but if u like! tnx

How do you switch so fast from the old to the new world? I always use the space bar to go to the world map but that's really slow 🤔
