It is sad what has happened to OOTP. What used to be the pillar of deep simulation of management and baseball, is now beginning to get sold off as a gimmicky cash grab. I think the game was better off without perfect team. I know it has brought them lots of money so good from a business perspective, but good god they went full corporate and might as well go on the same shelf as EA games.
Alot of us have been playing for years but every single year i always check to see what you think or found out what is helpful which all of your videos are. Im a diehard stats person and want the game to be as realistic as close to real life and you are the best person that does that!! And no one is even close to you!! I hate to see you stop doing videos and im hoping that maybe your bog project is making your own baseball game cause i know it would be awesome!! Just so you know there are alot of people who always want to see what you have to say. Thanks for everything you have put out there for us!!!!
This was a very honest and useful video. I'm sorry to see you go being one of the small members of the community you mention. However, mental health comes first. Sad to see you ride into the night. Your content was very much valued and have helped me and others to understand what can be understood in this game. I totally agree that money have taken the driving seat on OOTP. Been a player for over 15 years but seen the entuastic feeling of Markus over the last years have dwindled and I think Perfect Team and the selling was the two big factors that have broken this game. The writing was on the wall when they announced the new owners and one understood that now money will run this. The developing team would be more distance from the users. Kind of like EA handling their graphic games. I hope you doing alright in life and get that project of yours on track Best of luck to you and do take care of yourself. Your content will be missed, but as you say OOTP might have reach its end. 😪 Please don't delete your content on YT, as it is always a source of knowledge to come back too when in doubt.
Gonna miss having your knowledge and wisdom readily available through RU-vid content but glad you are gonna be around in some capacity. I REALLY really hope you see the excitement about MOPS 2.0 and release in some form.
Hey Sgt Mushroom. Thanks for helping all of us with your content.. I started playing OTTP since OTTP 18.. Just your analysis on defense alone esp Short Stop has greatly helped me over the years.. It's sad to see you go 😢.. but thanks again for all the advice
In 21 I was in a PT league with you Sgt M. I def saw you tanking and I was like wtf is this guy doing... now I know. Sad to see you go, you've been a big help.
Well, I am in that tiny group helped by your work, but if it has any effect on your sanity I hope you take care of yourself first. The ugly truth is, for mostly unrelated reasons, I don't use 23 or 24. They don't improve tournaments or associations, and re-learning a new system would be a waste of my time. Now the total deal-breaker is removal of international players/leagues and especially the way they did it, destroying people's league with a patch. It's a real loss for me. Anyway THANK YOU for everything and take care.
Just do whatever you enjoy. If it is technical data driven content, just upload. What is the worst that could happen. Negative comments are not important anyways.
I'm actually doing historical play on OOTP 22 because the interface worked better for several things I like to do with individual player strategy. At least from my perspective, they made it worse from that point. I've bought every game since OOTP 3, but I'm probably done now.
Hey Sgt Mushroom, just wanted to say the value you’ve added to the community and the game far exceeds any monetary contributions these whales bring in. It will be OOTP’s downfall, and I hope a new simulation grows from its ruins. Thank you for making the game much easier to navigate. I’ve been playing since OOTP3 and I’ve used your strategies in my games. OOTP24 will be my final OOTP as a result of the company’s disrespectful manner towards actual contributors in-favor of money contributors.
man i dont know you but just know you are loved. Jesus loves you! i know its such a roll your eyes cliché/just something people say to feel good about themselves in modern times but thats not why I’m saying it. I’m compelled to say it because someone said it to me one day, and I later found it to actually be true. I don’t know the extent of your mental health problems and perhaps you already know full well Jesus loves you, but just in case no one ever has I’m saying it to you now. you seem like an intellectual type person that relies on data and facts, science, and historical knowledge rather than spiritual/just believe for the sake of believing sort if information. You will be perhaps surprised to know the Bible in its entirety repeated and repeat it again, and understood through your subconscious reveals the former. the NLT bible, now listening to the data you compile on THAT is truly some Content I would have a front row seat for. GOD bless you man, I too, am currently suffering in the mental health area. Here’s to hoping the Lord still has something in store for both of us
