This week we undertook boiler tests on two of our steam locomotives, Muffin and Ruby.
These in-depth tests take place every 12 months and are undertaken by an independent and highly-experienced inspector. They ensure the engines are safe and running well.
Using an endoscopic camera, they take a really close look inside the locomotive and perform other visual inspections. We then get the engines to steam so further tests can take place.
We're pleased to share that both Ruby and Muffin steamed through their tests with flying colours, and will be in service on the main line a little later this year.
