I don't care how sharp the chips are or what this guy says. Never, NEVER, ever use gloves around rotation machinery, ESPECIALLY drilling machinery. The chip can grab the glove and tear your finger off or worse before you have a chance to say ouch. Loose the gloves, or loose a finger. It's better to have a couple stitches in your thumb then not to have a thumb to get stitches in. No professional machinist EVER uses gloves around rotation machinery, especially around a drill press! No long hair! No long sleeves or other looes clothing No gloves for no reason.
