How are straight people and gay people equal in the Philippines? Can gay couples get married? Can gay couples legally adopt a child? Do police authorities accommodate sexually abused women vs. sexually abused gays the same way? Are straight young boys physically abused by their fathers for being "straight"? Are straight individuals "pressured" into acting differently and hide their identity to avoid persecution from society? Are straight children being rejected by their parents and forced to leave their house for being gay? These are just some of the unjust experiences unique to the members of the LGBTQ+, that straight individuals will never experience. To say that we're equal is either ignorant, or just blatantly deceitful and dismissive. Better yourself.

Hate speech is still free speech, and though I may disagree with certain people promoting this kind of media, I will certainly defend their human right to freedom of speech. The term "Hate Speech" is subjective, whoever is in Government will be the one to define it and thus it is open to biases and abuse. One good example of this is in the US, if a Caucasian person attacks some from a minority group, they're often investigated for hate speech by default. Rarely does it happen vice versa. 2. Constant discourse is the main reason humanity has been able to progress. Constant discussions wherein each of us has presented our individual ideas has lead to the birth of many things, from Science to Philosophy. Simply blocking out someone because you disagree with them is a backwards mentality. Cutting off the flow of discussion from certain people you disagree with interrupts this pattern of constant discourse. What people often forget is that while people may have the freedom of hate, they also have the freedom to oppose that hate. Relying on censorship rather than objective discussion takes out some of the fuel in the cycle of progress. 3. There is no objective reason to ban hate speech. Though it is offensive in nature, hate speech by itself does not pose any harm. There is no need to worry though since there are already laws in place within the country which deals with specific situations wherein it does cause harm. Banning it is also unconstitutional since it deprives certain people of their freedom of speech. One can not be supportive of freedom of speech if they themselves want to censor people for the sole reason that they disagree with them.
