Second, do you know about powerlifting/strongman and how much psych you have to put yourself to achieve a lift? Third, have you ever noticed the mental difference when you max bench by yourself in a garage vs having people around the gym or a spotter for safety how psychologically you can lift more when in you’re mind you feel safe and secure? If so or not, do you believe the competitive, psychological and discomfort aspect of not being in your personal gym, not having your family and friends next to you cheering, without a care in the world would not affect the lift one bit? The you must be delusional, I even pick treadmills to run my 2 miles between others just based on the feel to get my workout perfect. @@peterschmidt1453 I'm not so sure man. There's only so much weight the human frame can possibly pull and hold. There may well be a genetic anomaly come along with the perfect storm of everything needed to blitz a 550kg deadlift, much like Usain bolt was the perfect storm for a sprinter, I don't think his records will ever be beaten, certainly not in my lifetime, and while there may be the odd few kg added to the deadlift before I'm gone, I don't think there will be another quantum leap like when Eddie did the 500 and added 35kg to the max in one sitting.
@peterschmidt1453
@peterschmidt1453 6 месяцев назад
@@paulharper4196 I agree there won't be a quantum leap, it will be "baby" increases from here. But with 2 examples, Hafthor Bjornsson is the other 500 club member at 6ft 9, Usain bolt at 6ft 4. Most world record sprinters are around 6ft, talent scouts were not looking at tall teenagers as future sprint talent, now they will be due to Bolt's success. Strong men have always had big, tall men competing, but even Hafthor is way taller than most. I think he will inspire tall teenagers to consider strong Man, the bigger you are the more muscle potential you have. Plus believing all elite athletes are "clean", they have been chasing drug cheats now for 40 years, it's an arms race with authorities always years behind and future records are always in danger of enhanced performance.
@paulharper4196
@paulharper4196 6 месяцев назад
@@peterschmidt1453 I watched a documentary about bolt and they said he was unique in that all sprinters, elite ones anyway, are always short, stocky and very muscular with majority quick twitch muscle fibres. The taller ones are generally more suited to middle and long distance running due to their slimmer frame and predominantly slower twitch fibres. Bolt was something of an anomaly in that he married the best aspects of both, so we had a tall, long striding, slender yet quick twitch dominant guy hence he obliterated all records. Ever notice how out of the blocks he was never the fastest as he lacked the initial explosiveness, but once he got into his stride he glided past the field effortlessly.

That said....I give Eddie credit for the lift, and it was amazing, but Hafthor gets credit as well. The condition of being in a competition is only there so that rules are followed for the legitimacy of the lift. There is nothing special, otherwise. I’m thinking you Need to Offer 500kg . 476kg to 505 may just be a5kg Difference. I’m Only a Fan, but Eddy Hall did 500kg and The Mountain HJB did 501kg. Put Those numbers to the Test…? Then go to 505kg….

Sick of these minor weight increases. Just make 500k the new standard, and set a 10kg new record. 5 more # isn't a new strength record because all of the previous guys could also have done it. It's just a technical measurement that doesn't show who is better.

Павел Наконечный тянул тоже все грамотно и технично, но Павла решили дать третье место 😂😂😂 Дурдом конечно, состав судьи 😬😬

In my opinion Makarov needs to slow down. I have watched all of his attempts so far and and there is barely any "walk up, get strapped and position and lift" he kind of walks up and lifts. There is no hesitation or positioning or anything. Now maybe that is his lifting style but when you compare how everyone else does it... the whole routine including wiggling toes to get better footing... he does none of that.

The reason it's so hard to beat Eddie's record isn't because people can't do it, there are guys as strong or stronger than Eddie out there, but it's a matter of really sacrificing your body to train one lift for one rep, and every time you practice a rep of 400kg+ you're risking tearing muscles, injuring your back, knees, having a brain bleed, etc. So, for a lot of these guys who are trying to win WSM and do other things with their career, it's simply not worth the time, dedication and risk to focus on one lift to the point of setting a record. Case in point: Mitch Hooper giving everything here just to get 450kg up past his knees one time. Makarov gassing out so much on his warmup rep that he looked like he needed to go lie down. You basically get one shot every couple of days to do this (provided you're not injured), and have a high chance of being injured in doing it, so you can see why most people just don't bother.

To take a world record you should do it in the same fashion or with less aids as the previous world record holder. If someone does it with no body suit on then if you beat theirs with a body suit it really shouldn't count, maybe a new record with the aid of a body suit. There needs to be rules over this so one guy doesn't have an advantage over another.
