Certain parts are very reminiscent of Marilyn Manson to me but maybe that's just me. Regardless I love it and I really think we will make the finals this year at least.
This has grown on me a lot since making this video. The music video was awesome and the slight changes elevated the song. I'm gonna throw it a vote this year and hope for the best. I wanna see Ireland return to their glory days. So time to get rid of The Late Late Show as a selection and give these entries the proper tools they need to do well from the start!
Also for many years Ireland did not send winners because we couldn't afford to host. There was a definite plan to send losing songs for that reason and then Jedward did good and I'm sure RTE etc were panicking and made sure to send trash after that. I think possibly now, they are trying to get noticed again, if not trying to outright win. A conspiracy theory that was quite widespread here for a long time but I for one believe it
I get the vibe there are a few countries that wouldn't want to incur the cost of hosting but I wonder what benefits there is to still spending the money to pay the participation fee knowing you will do that poorly?
@shawnxshamrock I don't really believe that was the reason we've sent poor entries in the last few decades. Ireland can afford to host, but we've struggled to understand the changes in Eurovision this century. We were a ballad powerhouse in the 90s, and somewhat in the 80s. and until last year had won the most times (Sweden drew with our 7 wins last year). Our last win was in 1996. Then the post-Soviet countries started entering around 2000 and completely changed the face and energy of Eurovision, and we couldn't keep up. Now Eurovision participants have gained a lot of success in recent years (Maneskin, Loreen, Rosa Linn, Duncan Lawrence, Dadi Freyr, Alessandra, and Käärijä) , and it's starting to become attractive again for artists. The reason countries still participate is because ultimately, it's inexpensive television for them to broadcast. The hourly rate of broadcasting the two semi finals and the final are generally cheap for the audience they attract, compared to making or buying programmes. Plus Eurovision is still a big communal viewing event in most of the participating countries
