Nice Job AJ ,love watching your videos, I noticed your hoop nets,If you ever get down to SD with you boat let me know, I fished lobster 40 years or more in SD and I can show you some spots.Love the 19 , I finished my 18 5 months ago and been so busy i have only had it out one time, Hoping to catch some bugs this season.
Thank you Johnny and I will have to take you up on your offer of heading down there to catch some bugs, probably be next season once I get this boat all dialed in. Congrats on finishing up your 18, hope things will slow down enough for you to enjoy it! 🍻
@@SoCalSeaChaserhi I got another quick question. What paint would you recommend for the exterior of an Arima in my case a sea hunter, would I do light sand and roll paint it? Thanks!
@@pnwfishingaddict4878 Best to buy premix gelcoat matching the color of your boat from fiberlay.com. If your doing small patch work thats fine, but if you’re thinking of redoing the whole boat, that’s a lot of work and you would be better off to just polish the boat or have a shop do the gel coating. Just my 2 cents.
@@SoCalSeaChaser awesome thank you! The boat is in pretty good shape. It’s 1986 15 sea hunter with a 70 hp evinrude and a 2000 year Johnson 6 hp kicker. We got it for 4.5. Do you think that was a good deal?
Wow, you did all the work on the boat, and sold it !!?? I thought you were going to keep it rest of your life or something after all the time you put in.
That was the plan to keep the Sea Chaser 17. But after using it a few times, the similarities and size were very close to my Sea Chaser 16, so I kept the 16. The Sea Ranger 19 was just pure luck that it was brought to my attention and since it was a boat I planned on getting in a couple years, I decided to just get it now.
Thank you and nice boat as well. I actually bought my top back 2015 when I got my first Arima but it was to big, but I held on to it and now if fits perfectly on my Sea Ranger. I bought it off of iboats.com and I believe it’s 6 feet long, maybe 45” wide? Another place that has good deals on Bimini tops is oceansouth.com, I bought the top that is on my Sea Chaser 16 from them and it’s been very nice. As for the for the install, yes I did it myself, very simple. iboats there’s no trimming the aluminum tubes, just assembled it. Oceansouth.com one you might have to do some trimming of the tubes to get it to your preferred height.
The couple times I’ve taken it out, I didn’t think to use GPS to clock it’s top speed. I would assume it would get somewhere around 35 / 38 @ wot. I will be reproping it this spring to get the most out of it at wot, but stay in its rpm range.
