The transmission is a e153 with the the e154f transfer case then the driveshaft is a matrix driveshaft and matrix rear differential. The only problem you might want to try the e154f rear differential instead of this because the axles will not hold. Can that driveshaft bolt to the rear e154f differential? Another thing that transfer case did you have to get a mwr plate or it was all bolt on to the e153?
Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing. I’ve been looking around the web to see if many people have built AWD 4age powered corollas. Flirting with making my turbo Corolla AWD down the track. Thanks for the inspiration 👍🏻
Did you use a e154f or e153 transmission? If you used the e153 you can swap all the internal gears exc.. of the e154f but isnt it easier to just buy the e154f? The ring gear is the only thing that is the same. The E154F has both the front and center differentials in the same space that the E153 has its single differential is the only thing I'm worried about. Another thing used the gt4 axles and the matrix awd hub. That way you don't need to use those awful cv axles. When you say welding and shaving what did you weld and shaved behind the block?
sweet! im in the process of turboing my 1zz matrix. I have the ECU, turbo, and manifold. not too much left to gather before I can start working on it. Im hoping to hit around 220 Hp. There are a few people out there who have claimed around 280 out of an stock block but im not gonna push it that hard. Keep us updated!
Does the matrix rear diff blow up under that kind of stress?? You may need to use the celica gt4 rear diff... Also gear ratios might be different. Let me know if I'm wrong thinking about doing the same to my pontiac vibe awd
Man that's cool... I could never cut up my XRS but that's awesome you had the balls!!! You got my sub and also got me thinking maybe an awd 2zz matrix would be easier/ more possible for someone with far less skills then you?
@@haydenbowles7759 I actually drive a 03 Corolla and I just bought a c60(the six speed), I was under the assumption it was off a Corolla but its actually off a 01 Celica, you're saying this combo would work?
@@yukikobayashi886 it will definately work, but there is an adapter plate that you need to buy as the two transmissions and motors have slightly different bolt patters
@@haydenbowles7759 I just found out that it should bolt up just fine to the motor but I will have to get a shifter shaft off a matrix gt or corolla xrs since the cables are mounted closer(can confirm since I already saw the bolt holes). Don't scare me bro if I cant find it at the junkyard that's gonna be 400$ on a new one and I haven't even heard of that adapter plate either XD
@@yukikobayashi886 i had a dude with a 1zz celica with the 6 speed tranny swap and when i was talking to him about it he said tbat he had an adapter plate...
