I've listened to every Bruno Mars album and most of his videos, I think this is the most fun I've seen him had - of course there's the Uptown Funk/24K Era but he just seems looser or laid-back, if that makes sense.

Also I never said which one of them the song came from I just said why I think someone would assume it was .Paak, Bruno still has that Disney image (even if he had a sex tape) and .Paak has very few clean songs in fact Smokey Robinson would only do a song with him if it was clean.

Pete and Anderson are paying respect and homage to classic R&B when groups dsnced and dressed in suits! I love it! Anderson sounds strong and sexy. Of Pete always comes through with those beautiful highs! This one is a classic!

So excited, my birthday is the same day as the release of the album. Best birthday present ever. These two are 🔥. Best collaboration and their hard work and talent is proof that each song released becomes a new favourite of all time, on loop, on the play list and a part of each day bringing warm to your heart and a little laughter at the delivery and brilliance of the videos that also stand alone. Definite Conchords and Lonely Island influences. Bruno was tremendous in those skits on SNL and brought some of that humor here. Still the song is absurdly good.

Yeah! I had the same thought - more Ween than Conchords/Lonely Island, in that it's a playful send-up more than an outright joke, but all three of the Silk Sonic tracks have been such note-for-note homages to classic 70s stuff (Commodores, Chi-Lites, etc) that they do give off a sort of parody song vibe, especially with how funny some of the lyrics are. I don't think that's a bad thing, either, it gives them a sense of fun you don't always get from soul/r&b.

Definitely! There is a very long tradition of “talking over the song” in not only R&B but in Gospel, which is probably where they got it from. Check out classic Dramatics, Bobby Womack, Isley Brothers and the list goes on and on
