If Bruno is going to do one thing, he's going to outdo himself on the track lol. Anderson too! When he came through with the vocals at the end along with Bruno, I was shook. As you said, once we get a live performance with the band, it's going to be MASSIVE.

What's fkin insane to me is that their performance at the Grammys was sorta last minute. They had to ask if they could be squeezed in to perform! So they didn't have too much time to prepare and play instruments live and it was still PHENOMENAL!!!

That wasn’t “parody“ The looking directly into the camera, close-up of their faces and the camera angle I believe was paying homage to the 1950s and 60s Singers. The live performance is more of a 1970s vibe.

At this point, Im just scared of how high the expectations are for Silk Sonic's album. Like this one song is legitimately 10/10. The next drop shd be as good or better. I can't imagine what type of song that can top Leave The Door Open atm. Hopefully their next single will. Cheers to Bruno and Andy. Best of luck to them! ✨🍾🥂

Whilst I think the Grammy performances are cool, I think Abel made the right choice choosing the Super Bowl over this. He had a lot more creative freedom and a much bigger stage!

I was also initially sad to not see the band. But then quickly realized they weren’t performing the album version, and that got me right back in. Anderson’s first verse was a really cool switch up. I wondered if it was too early to be departing from the original track patterns but this turned out great and it seems people loved it so who cares

I literally busted out laughing when you said you'd F*** the song up by stopping in shock over Bruno's vocals! Nice review! I've been adamant that this is LIVE except for the instruments of course and I've gotten slammed for it by those who think it's lipsynced. I have to admit that I really wanted them on their instruments like the video, but the good ol Motown choreography was sooo tasty!

the thing that makes me happier about this collab is that is going to put Anderson Paak in the mainstream level he's been deserving for at least 4 years. He has the grammy's, he has the respect of his peers, but for whatever reason, he never been the potential superstar he could be IMO (I mean he's as talented as Bruno Mars). It's kinda like H.E.R. (But I feel Paak's music is more appealing to a broader audience). It's a bit of a shame that this is his first top 10 billboard hit ever with the number of amazing songs he's done already. But hey, Weekend needed from Arianna Grande and then Hills/Can't Feel My Face to skyrock his mainstream appeal.

I think the reason the band wasn’t there was because it was last minute. Apparently they weren’t listed to perform originally until Bruno asked the President of the Grammys to perform.

Love your reactions, Jon! There's a band from Australia that I reckon you might enjoy giving a listen to, Hiatus Kaiyote - they're freaking magic! Many heavy hitters in the game have sampled their songs; Anderson .Paak, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, The Carters, Chance the Rapper and Rapsody to name a few. Jazzy, gospel, neo-soul - mad stank! Their album Choose Your Weapon is fire and their EP Tawk Tomahawk is equally as excellent.
