Store it for now till a suitable engine turns up at the right cash. Swap the lump and smoke about in it for a bit. You could soon turn a profit out of it mate as a runner. Anyone else looking for old Jags on copart now...... Damn you Drizz!
Just come across this video. I had same colour TDVi on a 55 plate, X dealer demonstrator. I nearly cried when I saw it bouncing on that fork lift. One of the best cars I've owned. Interesting to hear that the engine blew up. With a good history and fastidious owner, I wonder what went wrong? You see plenty of high mileage ones for sale. Mine was not good on short trips, with the DPF getting clogged up continually, so I had to part with it, regretted it ever since. I hope you get it going again, good luck!
Ive seen many reports of them failing across the different vehicles that engine was fitted to and some at really low milage. Just seems to be luck of the draw!
Definitely save it, just done something similar but with the baby X type, like you say only your time, get a s type dirt cheap and sell rest of the parts to make it cheaper but please film it for us to follow your journey.
D0 ut I have a 2006 with 230000+ just put newset used wheels and tyres so I now how much and thers not many around and that set u got are good mostar 19 inch buckeld welded ect u can get well over 30 to a gallan TDVI air pump I renewed about a ton makes all the deference electric hand brake is a pain when changing pans not putting it on leaving in park can sise caliper nice quality ride only better by modern rolls for money can't be beat people always looking asking is it for sale
Its a tidy motor. Worth saving. I would go with the other model and swap engine. Sell rest for parts etc and then have a nice motor for cruising in or sell back to the chap for even ££ ?
You have to save it, it's better than someone putting an electric car on the road! As for the engine I think I'd be tempted to go for the complete car you could get with a handbrake fault and use that one, at least you can drive/test it before you fit it! But a gorgeous car that needs to live again, try selling it back to the original owner, could be worth a shot?? 🤔
Hi I am a Jag fan I have owned a few xj6 and s type and x type just got a xf a month ago If you can get a engine o better a running car cheep I would put a engine in it
@@DrizzDevelopments Really glad to hear that, never regretted getting my XJ, and that colour is the same as mine. Wait till you get A DA polisher on there when it's up and running, It'll be love.
Another great video if it was rotten I would say break it but being its in good condition I would put it in the barn look out for another engine its to good to break
