Another election show: Meet journo-turned-politician Shambhu Kumar contesting from Bihar’s Vaishali

Delhi-based National Dastak editor Shambhu Kumar Singh is set to enter the electoral fray in Bihar’s Vaishali. The BSP contestant spoke to Newslaundry before the announcement of his candidacy, when the journalist had expressed his intention to fight the Lok Sabha election.
In this conversation, Singh spoke about his journalism, foray into politics, Bahujan politics, and about the people’s representation in the parliament.
The journalist-turned-politician cited stalwarts such as Lalu Prasad Yadav and Mulayam Singh and said Bahujan politicians fight polls over development and not religion. He also advocated for social workers to contest elections. He asked, “When those serving a party can contest elections then why can't those doing social service do so?”

शंभू कुमार महात्मा गांधी के खिलाफ़ घोर नफ़रत फैलाने वालों में से सबसे धूर्त, नीच कुतर्की व्यक्ति है। इससे फ़ोन पर बातचीत हुई है कई बार। यह एक बार भी दलितों पर होने वाले अत्याचार, मारपीट, हत्याओं में मेरे बुलाने पर भी नहीं आया। बहुत ही कुतर्की है और जिस पत्तल में खाता है उसी में छेद करता है। पैसे का ही मीत है और पैसा ही इसका अल्टीमेट गोल है। शेष सारी बातें ऊपर ऊपर से करता है।

Good decision It is responsibility of parties to give tickets to such candidates. But if they don't get ticket, they have very right to fight elections. Parties should be responsible for division of votes, not such persons.

@@ASG_19 BJP is contesting elections only in Jammu and not in Kashmir. Till now BJP has not supported any other ally party in Kashmir. Everywhere PM keeps boasting about Article 370.
