I should have bought one of those when I lived in Italy. Good ones were going for around 1.5 million lira, around £1000, we bought a 650 Cadgiva Alla Azzura for my then girlfriend, now wife to ride back to Blighty on. I was on my trusty and much loved Guzzi G5. I’m very envious of your new toy…sorry… bike.😍
well done matey im glad youve got one at last im thinking of getting the little black pig from under the covers becos my daughter has just got her cbt done and dusted gonna take her for a ride up the devils staircase soon with me on the pig cheers andy im well pleased youve got that bike
I had one a few years ago. It was ex police, in dark blue. I went all over the place, with no problems. It was, however, very heavy, which was why it was so slow! A great bike, enjoy it!
Greetings OldGuyinShed, congratulations on that new beauty and thank you for sharing, especially starting her up and letting us experience the idle. I have a story for you. My vx-800 had a dragging rear brake, which has been a long term problem I was unaware of. Well my eyes finally opened up and I got to work, rather reluctantly, but I did get it resolved and am very happy again. My mileage has improved to boot! The rear caliper is a two piston design and the inside was jammed up at full out position. The only way I knew was the rear brake would make a rattling sound and I noticed pressing it would make i stop. I was out on a long ride and it kept getting more persistent until I finally pulled over and noticed a hot caliper.
I think my description of "bonkers" is more accurate than interesting, mainly because it is Bonkers and riding it leaves you grinning like a village idiot
That's wonderful Andy. I've a Militare myself. They're slow but incredibly fun. I think that's an ex Carabinieri bike as it has their their own mod on the flywheel casing to make timing a lot easier.
@@oldguyinshed1703 I didn't know that. Mine was taken from a 16th flour mill I think. It's a might heavy, but makes for a combustion every other lamp post.
@@oldguyinshed1703 donka donka is good to listen to at our time of life. Well done you have added a lovely new layer of the Moto Guzzi experience to your life. Enjoy!
