This is the best i heard so far. Sustained breathing technique. Notes perfectly landed on their places. You can almost hear and understand every lyric wirh precision and clarity
I think Lea's performances are only getting better with age, so it doesn't surprise me that a vid of her singing this song 14 years later sounds more mature and still sounds beautiful. But, it's also worth noting that the later performance is a step lower than this one. Another sign of maturity - knowing what key works best for your voice.
This is one of the Sondheim tunes that I really don't care for. The only reason why I think Lea sang this was she wanted to show Liz Callaway she can sing this better than her. LOL! Just kidding, Lea.
