Love to hear the church bell, trains, rain, thunder and your pets. Like very much the way you make your videos and your restorations. Thumbs up, all the way. 👍
That chair certainly needed a lot of love and a big drink. I love seeing the transformation of something that most people would and have discarded, especially wood. Another fine job. 👌
The restauration work on this project is spectacular. But what is even more impressive is the time and care put into editing the video. I can't help thinking that editing and patching together all the footage so beautifully might even have taken longer than the restauration itself! What a well-put together presentation!
Thanks for the great feedback, especially regarding the editing. You are probably correct, there may be more time in the post production steps than the actual project itself. I counted over 650 shots that I logged and maybe used a fifth of those in the final edit. Crazy.
Your passion and patience is unfathomable to me. My passion and patience was nursing, which, hopefully, was equally unfathomable to you! Did that beauty have a destination?
Hi. Thank you for the very kind words. This piece is sitting in my dining room at the moment but I am actually about to sell it. We are moving soon and do not have the room for it sadly. It is a very nice looking piece. Nursing is a very respectable profession. I would not have the strength to do it. Thanks!!
@kristin4840 Just now seeing your comment. Thanks for visiting the channel and for the kind words. I am glad you are here. I might activate super thanks and buy me a coffee soon. Several folks have asked about it.
I was sipping on coffee and eating lemon cake while watching this video. The sound of the sand paper, the birds chirping, the beautiful transformation, everything was PERFECT!
Danke! Dieser ließ sich tatsächlich leicht auseinandernehmen, da bis auf ein wenig Kleber in den Dübellöchern kein Kleber vorhanden war und er ausgehärtet war und sich mit nur wenig Druck lösen ließ.
being a bit of a 'junkie' for watching restoration works, I was amazingly surprised to watch you at work. A true Craftsman. Loving your work and subscribed. Thank you
Granny would've loved how well you treated her rocking chair. She could sit in it right now and take her ease after your amazing care and skill. Thank You for sharing your work.
Thanks! I had to make sure to match up the proper dowels when reassembling so that the tracks lined up! It was a pleasant surprise to find that it had been a caned chair.
Looks awesome and much more authentic with the wicker bottom. I hate those at the same time, because I always feel like I'm going to sit down and rip right through it lol. But none the less, great job on it!!
Thanks! I was surprised to see the cane grooves when I lifted the cushion. I went into this fully expecting to have to learn to reupholster. It does look much better with the cane though. I'm not a small dude and it seems to hold me fine but the chair overall is a bit small for me so I won't be using it often.
I have only watched three of your videos so far, but I have found my favorite restoration channel. Thank you for the time and effort you put into your restorations.
loving the peacefulness of this. just the sounds of the tools and background noises are very soothing. I'm sitting back relaxing with some knitting, and just... listening and watching.
A Joy to watch the Ugly Duckling transform into a Swan...so metculously achieved...I wih you well with your move...I, at 80yrs old, am still in Chaos after relocating 6mths ago, so do Sympathise...dgp/uk
Congratulations on giving this gem a new life.👍👏🥂 I cannot stand the idea that such potential beauts are left at landfills to rot away. I myself find so much pleasure in reviving abandoned pieces . My wife though believes I clutter 🤔🇿🇦
Thank you! I have two early 19th century caned-seated chairs that need to be hand-weaved. Not sure that I'll make a video because I think folks will fall asleep watching me try to figure it out. It's cool that you learned so early.
Good to see a solid piece of wood furniture being repaired and restored. This rocker should last for at least another generation. Great work and thank you!
Superb job! Your attention to detail is phenomenal! Every little piece and every little crack repaired and filled! When I first saw it I really thought it was a hopeless case! You are so talented.
I just finished watching the restoration video of that deteriorated rocking chair. Never would I have thought it would be so beautiful. Your craftsmanship is a master class to all woodworkers, stunning result.
