In 1L did you feel like you had to wear more business casual to class? Or were you able to wear sweatpants and leggings without feeling like you had to dress up a little more??
I never wore sweatpants but wore leggings regularly! And now there are a lot of nice, plain joggers I would feel comfortable wearing if I was going in-person. I usually try to wear a relatively neutral top so minimal words/graphics, but often times that's a sweatshirt or sweater so nothing fancy! Never felt like I had to dress up
hi! are you able to talk about how you prepped for the start of your 1L year? im starting law school this fall and to say i'm nervous is an understatement. any advice would be helpful. thanks!
Hey! I would just be sure you know what habits work for you - where you like to study, how you like to study, how you like to take reading notes, class notes, etc. In general, trust that your school will ease you in as a first-semester 1L, so don't feel like you need to know everything ahead of time. Just be confident in your own routine so that you feel like you have some normalcy when you start this new chapter. Also, if you can find any future classmates online, it would be great to get to know some ahead of time! That'll help so you feel like you have support, and people you can bounce questions off of, study with, relax with, whatever!
Dear Jenn Martin, This is an official letter and not a youtube comment. I'm in trouble at only 20. Is it with maritime law? Permissive counter claim? if I caught a catfish in a clean canal (I did) and it was too small (it was) but it was in suffering (it was), could I eat it? (I did kill it and then bread it and fry it). That is a true story, with no answer . . . If I should have known was it illegal? Is leaving a fishing line out overnight illegal then?? I someone takes you to court for "poaching" a sturgeon fish (PS: I didn't poach one -- for real)... _can they still fine you if you used a commercial trawler?_ If you forged a "dolphin safe" label on a can of tuna, what happens? Because they don't do this, is starkist canned tuna still legal? Can an American lawyer sue a South Korean owned company? I hope your day is well. Maybe find yourself a teachers apple? That isn't only story book fruit :). . . Lawyers are loved -- and we all love you. Yes we do, Richard A. bottom feeder already won the case between crusty Krab and Plankton . . . "maybe today is the day I'm going to steal the formula for the krabby patty." (krabs vs plankton). Sue 'em .... I need a lawyer. Hypothetically, what would your rates be as soon as you pass the bar exam? (please don't feel the need to answer this curiosity) Do you know of anyone who works in the cyber crime law realm? I'm sophisticated but I do not have the cyber forensics information yet. (I'm working on this! There is no judge, but if there was I would say "Yes, your honor!" ) Someone is indirectly abusing me through cyber crime (isn't that a crime?). When I complain, I feel the throngs of people who do not understand, and therefore do not agree with me. My heart is broken. If you ask why I would like legal defense, this is why. I'm not jumping the gun, I am actually afraid. Will the laywers in the world listen to me? At heart this is a legal issue. I myself am seriously considering going into law (for the first time ever!) to solve it . . . I would like a lawyer referal please. You are busy, and when you leave school you will find that you are in short supply. You're bright! I am only 20 years old right now, so please take advantage of these last few months while you are still in school. You will have earned your future income -- but for right now, I need a friend. Sincerely, Caleb Albrecht
Ahh omg you are the first person I’ve come across that was dance major who went to law school! I have a degree in dance and mass media w a minor in AFAM. I’m interested in law school. :)
Not me failing all my nursing school classes (I got kicked from the program :( ) and now having a quarter-life crisis and considering doing law bc I work at a firm
Quick question you mentioned the bar and mpre...is it a must to take both?great vlog as usual in my case I will be taking the bar in due time in NY just to give you some context.
As an undergrad student who wants to go to law school, I love your videos so much and always look forward to them!! Sorry if you answered this in the video and I just missed it but what area of law are you hoping to practice?
thank you so much! so I'm not actually sure what area, and the firm I'll be working for has many practice groups. And they just place us by need, so we'll see where I end up and what clicks!
I have a lot of classmates who are second-career students, so idk their ages specifically but a lot of them have had significant other careers before law school, meaning it's a very wide age range!
