When Damon told Elena “I can’t be selfish with you” he really meant it. The only thing getting him through his time in the prison world was the hope of seeing Elena and now bc she looks happy, he’s letting her go. The rain kiss is such a perfect scene, they’re holding hands and ‘another love’ is playing. It’s one of the prettiest tvd scenes in my opinion and I love that while Elena is looking at the rain, Damon is just smiling and looking at her with so much love in his eyes.

I love how when Damon and Elena see each other it’s not a ‘they look into each others eyes and the memories came back’ type of moment. This show has a lot of fantasy but I like that delena seeing each other again for the first time wasn’t cliche. Despite them being two vampires on a supernatural show their relationship has so many real aspects. Their moments are my favorite part of tvd and though they face many obstacles, their love story is the best 💗

Some people did read the dialog before the rain kiss "time to abandon ship" - "just give it a second, it'll clear up" as a message to the delena fans/shippers. And I really love that way of looking at it.

One of the matters in Season 6 many don't bring up is Nina's acting, I feel she does a wonderful job in the slight shift in how she plays her "happy" as it were. It almost feels like there is something missing in the happy though, like it's a "fake happy" in how she portrays it.

Me and Sofie are the same, watching the delena love story has also been the peak of all the ships I’ve watched. They really have it all, ‘enemies’ to frenemies to lovers, motel kiss, rain kiss, love confessions, angst, the development, and acting like a married couple scenes. This is my favorite delena season 🥲

Just like ‘feel so close’, ‘another love’ is also a song I associate with Delena in my mind. “Even if I was drowning in grief, I’d rather hang on to every moment that I ever held you, or every laugh I ever heard, every shred of happiness that we ever had. I would rather spend every moment in agony than erase the memory of you” nobody loves Elena more. Like they really promised forever to each other 🥺

I can't not hear another love and not think about Delena... I really like that Damon didn't tell her about the rain kiss. Even tho she was getting something when she crossed the border, Damon would never risk her well-being. Also there is a short video with Ian and Chris (Damon and Kai) doing their own rain kiss scene 😆 If I remember correctly they did it for comic con and it is somewhere on youtube for sure.

Watching this reaction reminded me of how Stefan wanted Rebekah to compel his memories and love for Elena away after they broke up but here Damon says he would rather be in agony than not remember the moments he had with her, no matter how painful it may be 😢

Stefan believed/once said that you can either be friends with someone or in love with them, not both. THAT was the barrier to him seeing Caroline’s feelings or the potential of them as romantic (even when Lexi straight-up tried to tell him, lol). He had no experience with or frame of reference for friends-to-lovers romance so the fact that what he and Caroline shared was an ideal foundation for falling in love was just not at all in his consideration. But watching him gradually realize it over the next several episodes-after this ep broke the first crack in the barrier-is certainly a sight to see. 😍

as mad as i was elena erased her memories of damon (though i understood) i honestly think it was a great thing in the long run just to see them fall back in love with each other again no matter what they do they'll always find their way back to each other not because of some spell or even a sire bond, they are meant to be one of the best things about delena is the slowburn but not so slow that it's tacked on at the end of the series (this is also why i like steroline even though i prefer klaroline i still can appreciate a good slow burn) and even now it's fun to see elena fall in love with damon all over again i can't get enough of it all the obstacles they went through is worth it, they've been through hell and back and yet nothing will tear them apart i love that

Huh? Elena is probably the one who’s understood him the most since the beginning. Literally when everyone thought he was evil she said that everything Damon had done he did thinking it was for love. It was her compassion and her understanding him that made him “believe that he was worth saving”. Elena doesn’t have her memories and has no motivation up to now to want to remember him. She only knows her own experience right now, not his. I feel bad for Damon and he went through a lot to make it back to Elena but she doesn’t remember him dying and them being in the car together or all their moments.

@@_Mia98 i know, i'm sorry... i love elena and delena, i just can't see her pushing him away, i know she erased her memories for greater good but she could've listened to him, i mean anyone can understand that feeling, she know he just came back from prison world and seeing elena and being with her was the only hope for him to not shut-off his humanity
