Arin deciding to play the most batshit insane games and pretending it's the most normal day of his life is my favorite type of game grumps episodes

I love that the whole time Arin had that "I am absolutely up to something" voice and Dan's just like, "Oh, frogs and fruit, neat!"

I love how you can listen to Dan going from jokey and laid back to focused and engaged the moment it becomes a text adventure.

The story Arin and Dan were talking over during the underwater Bug Mars segment sounds boring at first but it's a hell of a ride. The narrator describes how boxing was originally a sport where opponents tried to bore each other into unconsciousness by telling each other stories for days on end, until one guy just goes up and decks the other in the neck. The officials conclude that this isn't in the spirit of the sport, but "ain't no rule says you CAN'T punch a bastard" so everybody just starts doing that instead.

If anyone can handle frog fractles and decimumps, it’s our boys Denny and Arnold.

My favorite sub genre of grump is “Dan knows nothing about the game and Arin acts like everything is obvious. (While actually knowing the game before hand)” genre

Despite their shrub-y look, durians actually smell fractionally better when grown in the United States compared to other countries due to the static cling of dragon riding and fruit fly eating frogs.

I'm really glad they played the Game Of The Decade edition and got to experience its glorious, widescreen glory. Those red curtains really add so much to the experience, the only negative to this game is just how much it makes the original pale in comparison in terms of aspect ratio.

I like how Arin was initially kinda putting on a character to add to Dan's confusion, but then the game never lets up, so he just slowly becomes the character. All awhile Dan learned to accept the chaos halfway in, much to Arin's chagrin.

Also programmer here; it doesn't matter what keyboard layout you use. Studies involving latin character have since confirmed it doesn't matter which one you use as long as you start from a relatively young age. Some layouts are easier for older people to learn if they've not used a keyboard before, but the same can be said for learning another speaking language also.

as a dvorak user, no it's just a different layout you tend to alternate between vowels (left) and consonants (right) which feels nice but there's nothing objectively bad about qwerty or good about dvorak i just wanted to learn to touch type properly and switching layouts was the easiest method for me (starting from scratch over fixing what was VERY broken

Zorkmids! I know the grumps will never play any of the Zork games, but that took me way back. In case anyone cares, Zorkmids are the currency of money in the adventure game series, Zork. It started as a text based adventure game that evolved into a point-and-click adventure puzzle game in the 1990s. They're a very tongue-in-cheek fantasy style game (except for Zork Nemesis which was much darker). Check out some of the clips of Zork: Grand Inquisitor. It's very funny in a Monty Python kind of way. It's also VERY 90s. And it features actors you may know, like Erick Avari, Rip Taylor, and Michael McKean!

I love that they talk over the narrator casually describing the fucked up origins of Boxing. "It started as two people talking about something until one of them fell down from exhaustion. One day, a guy saw an angry child strike another angry child who fell down a sa result. Taking inspiration, on his next Boxing match, while his opponent was talking, he just struck him in the neck." Wtf!?!? You'd think after a boxing match, Arin would be paying attention. Must've added to his brain damage.

I would love to someday see the boys play Lil’ Howie’s Funhouse, a somewhat obscure 90’s children’s computer game series. My twin sister and I absolutely loved these games, so much so that we still remember much of the dialogue almost 30 years later! Howie is literally voiced by Howie Mandel! 😜

I still remember way back in the day playing this game without knowing anything about it. I'll always have fond memories of the crazy stages my mind gradually went through: - this is all the game is? - is this supposed to mean something? - this is so dumb - oh brother, this game sucks - wait......what? - woah, you can -- - no way! - what even IS this game? - you're KIDDING ME!! I mean it's hardly one of the best games I've ever played obviously, but it's one of the best examples I can think of of a game that not only turns out to be something entirely different than what you thought it was, but just keeps going further and further down the rabbit hole and somehow continues to surprise you in more new ways. For a kind of dumb free internet game, a lot of creativity went into it. It's one of my go-to choices of games to get friends to play without telling them anything about it so I get to watch them have the same experience I had of getting your mind blown more and more.

That underwater section looked like one of those stylish levels from the modern Donkey Kong Country games. XD
