I finally managed to find time to sit down and film a Q+A. I hope I was able to answer some of your questions well and feel free to ask more questions in the comments (or on my socials).
Applications for UNIQ 2021 are also now open and I would really recommend you sign up for it! I did UNIQ myself in 2018 and it was honestly such a great experience and played a big part in my application to study at Oxford.
Due to pandemic restrictions UNIQ 2021 is an online programme but it still provides a great way of finding out what it is like to study at Oxford. Check out the UNIQ website for more details: www.uniq.ox.ac.uk

I think it would probably have to be the research! We've got to read up on a lot of experiments and I think it's really cool to see what people have done to lead us to what we currently understand as well as what we're trying to understand

Hiii I really love your videos😍 I am just going to apply to UNIQ, however I already know that I will be rejected, simply because the area I live in is not the area they target in terms of widening access. I have applied to various schemes like these, but was rejected for the same reason. It is very frustrating. Are there any other schemes that are less competitive to get into. I actually want to study medicine as well ( I love neuroscience as well yayyy), but with the pandemic and no connections it has been really difficult. Still I love watching your videos to gain a better insight, so thank you❤️❤️

Here from Uniq ! What are some super curricular things you would suggest and could you please suggest any books or materials that would be a good basis to start with ?

Hello! I think I've got a video about things you can do but you can do online work experience, be a part of various medical societies (inside school and out) and try to attend various lectures in your spare time. Books I've personally read included 'The Man who mistook his wife for a hat', 'Genome' and 'Being Mortal'. Hope that helps!

Hey! Here from the UNIQ session that ended just a min ago :) Just wanted to ask, I’m doing pretty well in college (predicted about A*A*A) but in high school my gcses were mediocre due to all of my family passing, do you think I could still make a good application despite my non-competitive gcses :) thanks!

The university does take into account extenuating circumstances so don't worry too much about that. Perhaps bring this up to whoever your referee is in school so they can make a note of it. Hope that helps!
