Awesome book to get - congrats! I recently acquired a lower grade copy, but very happy to have this classic in the collection! This cover is up there for me, also Fantastic Four 49.

Nice acquisition!! Iconic cover, hopefully they replicate in a movie like they did Spidey leaving his in trash walking away. Yea you could probably upgrade it a little bit, but still good buy.

I agree C Note, I would love to see this cover in the next Spiderman movie! It's just iconic. They homaged it on a recent Spiderman 2099 cover, and it still looked great!

Iconic cover, but I hate the word "grail" for something that's not particularly hard to get, particularly in low grade. I'd go with Silver Surfer 4 as the best silver age cover. At arms length, it looked like a 4.0. Those color breaking marks across the top half of the book really harm the overall eye appeal, but I don't think the defects take it out of the VG range. Unless the spine is ratty, I agree with your 3.5. In that grade, the tear is treated harshly, but the long crease and the tanning no longer have much of a consideration. I don't think it's improvable with a press.
