Another Smaller is Better Cute Short Drama -Provoke [CC] 

Sometimes these mini dramas are better than full fledge drama due to its length n usually it is more fun n playful. Due to its length even if its not great it is forgiven more easily coz u don't felt like u wasted a lot of time 😂

What I like the most about short web dramas is that they keep their focus. There is serious problem in Chinese dramaland with writing and as soon as you have 20+ episodes of 45+minutes the writers seem to feel the weird but uncontrollable urge to fill the episodes with useless nonsense: waste screentime on characters we don't care about, add subplots that are insignificant, etc. They just don't know how to keep their focus. I'd rather a short drama but well-written than a longer drama with lazy writing any day, even if it has a lower budget. Writing trumps production, in my opinion.

I watched the first episode and for some unknown reason, the sequence where ML and FL met at the train station totally blew me away. The lighting, how it was shot, the background music, the closeup on FL face, everything was so mesmerizing. I repeatedly watch that scene sooo many times.

I'm intrigued! This is so short that I can watch it in one day easily. As they say "necessity is the mother of invention" so I 100% agree with what you said. You definitely can't get top quality without budget but you can get a decent result. Sometimes, a big budget can make the creative side complacent or overwhelmed. On the other hand, the creatives who have learned to work with the absolute minimum have also learned to use everything they do have to the maximum effect. Tbh, I'd rather have an experienced and effective crew with little budget than an assortment of people who have no idea what they're doing but somehow managed to secure a big budget.

It's the same team as A Familiar Stranger! I absolutely loved that mini drama! So fun & so beautiful to watch. You can pretty much screenshot every take & it's 100% well lit & angled. Definitely checking this 1 out too then!

Watched this on the day the final episode was released and finished this at one go. A very entertaining stylishly made short drama that benefited from a tight script, good direction and good acting. And there are quite a number of songs used in this drama, all well selected and fit the scenes perfectly.

New updates: Oh no... just as I was looking at this new promising actor, Zhao YiQin performances, his ex-girlfriend just shared bad news of his personal characters... I'm not sure if this will affect his growth of an actor or if he will be canceled. Hiya! So sad... bad news! Previous post: I just found out that the male main lead, Zhao YiQin, has been acting since 2016 to 2019 as a support role on some major drama like: - Memory lost season 1 to 3 - King is not easy - Untouchable Lovers - Accidentally in Love - The Legend of Hao Lan Main role from 2020 onwards - Fake Princess - My Girl - Communication - Love Story of Court Enemies - Sweet Sweet - Provoke - The Comic Bang

The ml is in my girl and salute to my youth both are famous especially mygirl , I had bunch of my girl drama edits in my feed that's how I found this drama.

Zhao Yi Qin is my favorite cdrama actor 💜

Even though this is a short drama, the main actors are easily recognisable from other full length dramas, unlike the other dramas from this same director. The ML was also in the drama with the FL who was the 2FL from Romance of the little forest; where she due to some psycho issues she should be a different character often and Zhao Yichin plays along with it. I am enjoying this drama very much. Sad that it is getting subtitles very slowly. Thus waiting for this drama is no less than any other regular dramas. For a low budget drama, this drama uses same sets as used in Rebel, Rookie agent rogue or even Lost in Kunlun Mountains. Comparatively this dramas budget might be higher than the other dramas like Killer is also romantic or Familiar stranger.

I’ve just finished watching this one. Omg, I didn’t have any expectations on it just bored and clicked, but it turned out really interesting. I love the vibe and visuals of the two, really mesmerizing. Loved it!

I hope this director will maintain his style cuz I am really in love with his productions T.T but maybe also hoping that he'll get more $$ to make new productions in the futureee

I liked Zhao Yi Qin's acting in My Girl, which is part of what interested me in this drama (though he's been a lead in a few other things I dropped, so alone he's not enough). I had no idea this was the team behind Familiar Stranger and The Killer is Also Romantic, but it makes sense, because as soon as I started watching I was enjoying it. I'll try to keep a better eye out for their work in the future, especially if they keep making short sweet dramas.

I really enjoy the bite sized dramas. Even though they weren't quality pieces, both 'Revenge' mini dramas were great trashy fun and I like that more small scale dramas are being released.

Again, thanks AvenueX for a great rerecommendation. The fact that you compare this drama to fast-food is something I myself often use for some dramas.

I got into it after watching Familiar Stranger which was sooo cute, decent acting, beautiful lighting, nice chemistry between the couple and i already enjoy it as i did with familiar stranger

its a rather similar drama to Maid's Revenger, both set in Chinese Republican Era and has thriller revenge plot with intense romance. The cinematography and costumes are stunning! Do give it a go, the OSTs are delightful too!

Currently watching this drama and really enjoy it, from the storyline to the acting. While it may not be the best in terms of the script or the acting, it nevertheless is a quality production with well thought out scene sequences executed in a logical, cohesive manner. Thumbs up from me.

The dramas do saturate the characters or scenery with too much or too little light. Hadn't thought of it much before, but that is distracting at times. Love the costume dramas as the clothing is exceptional.

Yass i watched the 5 mins preview of it yesterday and was thinking of watching it after my finals. You made a video, i will take it as a sign to definitely watch it. I've seen the male lead from "My Girl" and "Fake Princess". My first seeing the FL tho. As for your things you didn't like is kind of expected for short Cdramas, reminds me of "Maid's Revenge" so it's not a biggie👍🏻.

The low budget production with underrated & non traffic actors have a better series and acting While those C-series with popular actors, over hyped promos and big production budget is a big disappointment.
