IMO Naya did some of the best covers. I think bc she has a voice that sounds like a recording artist rather than a broadway star, it worked better for the pop song covers. Also Naya’s voice is great!

This is a brilliant list. I really appreciate that Cough Syrup is no.1, because a lot of people tend to overlook it, but it fits the storyline so well and Darren performs it perfectly.

Best Day Of My Life originally by American Authors? I love that cover, and I also love the original. At first Sam was not impressed at all with New York, and Blaine tries to show him how much fun NY is. Sam does get into things and the two sing the song and dance in the streets of NY, people even crowding around to watch. Seriously Best Day Of My Life is an amazing song no matter which version you listen to, but I will say I prefer the Glee version because I really got addicted to the song because of Glee.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Glee has a lot of amazing songs. I would have a huge, very serious problem with choosing the best cover song ever from Glee, but I absolutely agree with No. 1 on this list. Daren Criss is annoyingly talented. I don't even count how many times I cried on this scene.... UUUUGHHHH, I miss you so much Glee....

These were great, but Mercedes had some of the BEST covers on this show and she never gets recognition. There is no reason for there not to be at least one of her solos on here! You guys can just make another list and give her her credit.

One of my favorite glee songs is when Mason and Jane sings the mash-up of Will you still love me tomorrow and head over feet, but there are so many great ones in Glee.

I totally agree that cough syrup should be up high on this list, probably even ranked first. Just watching a few glimpses of this scene made me tear up again. But I wouldn’t call it the saddest scene in Glee history. I mean, let’s not forget about the whole the quarterback episode... :(

Yeah , Glee's version of Cough Syrup and Valerie are still on my phone. Still listened to. The originals aren't because I like these better.

"Valerie" wasn't originally Amy Winehouse and Mark's song it was British indie rock band the Zutons. But the cast of Glee and Amy did a good job cover it.

Paradise was the best in the series. No doubt about it. It's one of the only songs I can't get sick of. The performance was amazing .1000/10

Oh, God, yes, I love "Human Nature" by Chord and Amber! Amber did an amazing job using the notes on the pentachords to jazz it up without going overboard! "Shake It Out" was a beautiful performance, I agree. OMG, how did I forget "Born This Way"??? I like the purchasable version better, though, because the lyrics aren't censored by FOX. I think "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" was their best ensemble performance, but for a while after Cory died it depressed me because of the repeated, "praying for the end of time so I can end my time with you" sung to Lea as Rachel. Lea does a very good job of imitating Barbra Streisand's style, but I think she overdoes most of her other performances. "The Scientist" was at once beautiful and heartbreaking: the perfect ingredients for a work of art. They did do a very masterful job of making it pull at our heartstrings, didn't they? "Thriller/Heads Will Roll" kicked butt. Personally, I liked Two Cellos's performance in "Smooth Criminal" better than the melody written for Naya and Grant. And, I guess I need the lyrics of "Cough Syrup" explained to me. As one with Asperger syndrome, I have trouble reaching as far as the metaphor used in the song and can't understand what it's trying to say. (I was an excellent student of English grammar, style, usage, and vocabulary; but when we switched over to the poetry and literature unit I was nearly always lost.) Oddly enough, my teacher said I was a very gifted writer.

Honestly, Cough Syrup, the Scientist, Hey Jude, and Somewhere Only We Know will forever be my favorite glee songs.

I can't even listen to Cough Syrup because of its Glee scene. The moment I saw that blue backlight on Darren, I had to pause the video because I knew what was coming and had to mentally prepare myself for it. There's only a few songs throughout its 6-year run that affect me that way. It's both my favorite and least favorite cover they did.
