I'm 49 and couldn't care less about any of the music legends. I can see them only going one way in 10 - 20years when their owners have died and the popularity and relevance to the current and next generations diminish.

Most of the music is before my time, but agree. I think in 10 years these will be going for just over spot.

I take the opposite view and believe that Bowie, The Stones, Elton and The Beatles etc. will endure for decades to come. So, the idea for the series is fine, but it's let down by really poor design. The Royal Mint have failed to catch the essence of each artist and produce a set of arresting images. They're dull and lack any wow factor. So, for that reason - 'I'm out'.

@@timwilcox960 I don't know why the mint have tried to do this over concentrating on stuff like the Britannia etc. Just a money grab.

Yes I agree that these coins will be traded at spot in the secondary market. Also horrible design.
