In the U.S. the silver version is a medal not legal tender sharply decreasing its value.

Ah ok thanks for pointing that out. Wonder if that's because of it being a collaboration?

The Royal Mints one ounce silver proof Britannia and Liberty coin has the lowest mintage (12,300) .the bullion coin has the 260,000 mintage. The U.S. silver proof medal has a mintage of 75,000 and no bullion coin.

Yet more unnecessary coins, grossly overpriced. Just released to pay the wages of RM staff. No. I will not be buying.

I don't disagree, I wish they would focus on the standard stuff rather than all these collaboration type things.

Never mind what other mint's proofs cost.. what about what they buy the blanks in for.. as they admitted they don't even mint blanks anymore.. they buy them in! So all in profit , they are making a lot! but then they have staffing costs and everything else... As for the Britannia / Liberty coin... ugly the first time I saw it .. and still ugly now! is this what we are getting instead of the normal Britannia release ? The RM .. need to stop with the gimmicks and minting coins to celebrate every known occasion and woke event... they should go back to basics IMO

It would be great to find out, I did ask about their mark up but as always my question was ignored. They will be minting coins for valentine's day etc next like those knock mints. I just don't understand why they are trying to sell other mints coins just doesn't make any sense.

@@the_islandstacker They are just recycling old crap and giving it a facelift with a fresh bit of printed card.. I hope for the environments sake .. they are using recycled paper/card .. other than sovereigns .. the best thing they have minted has been the dinosaurs collection over the last two years .. IMO
