I was 12 when I originally played this on PC back in the early 90s, it was a mesmerizing experience and together with Flashback really made me want to be a video game developer, a dream I finally fulfilled in 2008. An absolute classic.
One of the most amazing games i’ve ever played, I salute you sir. I remember when i first played the game on my Amiga 500, the game was so different from anything out during that period! Felt like playing a science fiction movie!
To make a game like this in that time where game development was less commonplace in the West and with tools he developed himself is very impressive. Heart of Darkness was another work of art that inspired my own artistic vision in aesthetics.
Another World is absolutely one of the best games of the era. To create it, besides the music and sound-fx, you need a game engine, sprites (animated), background graphics, cut scene animations, level-data, some sort of scripting and whatever i forgot to mention. Even if somebody was very skilled, I still can not comprehend how one person could create all that alone. It is and always will be a masterpiece of video game creation!
This was the best Amiga 500 game period! Felicitation Monsieur Chahi! This should be a movie, how come Hollywood or better French film makers still couldn't do it!?
