Um, I get that your heart is in the right place, but like... Naw. Making people feel potentially in danger is pretty inherent in a lot of pranks. You shouldn't do pranks on random people. That's what's fucking weird and obnoxious. You pulls pranks on the people you're close with, because humans usually allow other humans they love to fuck with them. It's funny. You also prank people you hate, because you want to cause some negativity to them. That's completely different, but it's also understandable. You never prank strangers. They didn't decide to be a part of your life, so fucking with randos in public is just weird. Unless you can do it tastefully and be super nice about it. Like, the impractical jokers using fishing reels to take shopping bags in the mall. Something super goofy like that works, mostly because the immediate emotion isn't "I'm being robbed," it's just straight bewilderment. That's funny. One person just being annoying to some one other random guy isn't a "prank." It's just being a weirdo. Unless the prank is, "ha, you thought I wanted to smoke pot with you... But I don't, I'm filming this and that's the prank. Got you, haaaa you're so got"
@@zacharyconfer1828 I think we have different definitions of the word danger. When I say danger I don't mean being startled/frightened over something minor (eg: fake cockroach on your shoulder) but rather being made to think you or a loved one is about to be harmed/killed.
Yeah you don't know what these guys your pranking are going through either. They could be one bad day away from snapping (insert joker meme here), they could be a serial killer or they could have PTSD, or some other kind of mental illness. It's dangerous, stupid and sadomasochistic
I like light hearted pranks, like the twins who make people think they’re teleporting. No one’s hurt, no one’s embarrassed or made fun of. Just normal shenanigans. People who break stuff or make messes are not pranking, they are just scumbags.
If his family are any sort of good people they will yeet his computer and recording equipment out a third story window, or at the very least have an intervention
The fact it was a verbal confrontation makes your whole entire argument here very wrong. While the prankster is a douche bag the shooter made the decision to discharge that weapon in a public space so he can deal with the ramifications of his own actions.
@@spiro3142 if you tell someone repeatedly to leave you alone and they refuse to leave you alone you should be entitled to defending your self from harassment. that said, this is why i advocate for things like pepper spray. however, if this happens and all you've got is lethal means of self defense, then oh fucking well. the person who approached you should have considered that possibility before choosing to a aggravate a stranger minding their own business. people fail to keep in mind in these situation that you cannot know whether the assailant is armed or not and in a self defense situation where someone is refusing to comply with leaving you the fuck alone, it's best to assume they are armed.
@@spiro3142 You are in america, guns are legal, anyone could have one and criminal rate is very high. 2 tall men walk over to you in public. kidnapping prank on best friend (gone wrong, gone sexual, police called, arrested at gunpoint, went to jail, got tried in court, went to prison, escaped prison, am now on the run, fleeing the country
I miss the kind of pranks where you get your friend drunk, lead them into the catacombs, chain them to the wall in a little crevice so they can’t get out, and build a brick wall in front of them. Good times
Seems like whatever brain worms you need to start off with to harass someone bad enough that they shoot you also leave you already too far gone to have an epiphany. Like it was too late BEFORE the consequences hit.
Maybe when he sees the hospital bill or mommy and daddy see it he will learn. But like Alien Tourist said maybe he's just got brain worms and is untreatable.
I feel bad for that guy. Hopefully, with enough donations, the guy can get a bigger gun soon to really make sure whoever he's shooting isn't coming back up
The dudes father talked about him saying “my son is doing comedy and just trying to make people laugh i can’t believe someone would shoot him and go that far” lol
Ahh yes the classic "credibly and believably threaten a stranger's life and force them to make a split second decision about defending them selves" prank
"Pranks" are honestly wildly popular with a certain type of people. Usually people who are very unexperienced in life or people who have main character syndrome, or just those who lack any empathy. These guys will literally just blatantly harass people whether they're workers or just bystanders. The people will, very understandably, get upset, and then you'll see a wave of comments on these videos like "HAHA omg some people can't take a joke bro." or "This person really takes their job that seriously??" Tbh a lot of these videos get an insane amount of views and likes so I don't think they'll be going away any time soon unfortunately. It's a shame because there are plenty of, what I would consider, wholesome pranks that generally get a laugh/smile from all parties. Those are great, we love those. These "pranks" where they just harass people just disgust me.
I've probably pranked about 500 random people and none of them have had a bad recation. Most laugh, jokingly flip me off, prank me back or bring their friends over to get pranked. A lot of people tend to pull little pranks in real life, it's just a minority that post on RU-vid raking it too far.
There's one twins pranker that tricks people into thinking he's time traveling by walking past them multiple times. Hilarous, harmless, and no one was shot. The pranker got revenue, the viewers got non-cringe content. Win win
@@user-lp6hb2yw3pthat is my take away. Is it really unrealistic to think someone who has a complete stranger shove a translated message in their face for almost 5 minutes wouldn’t stab you or shoot you these days? Even if the message was “I need help, I’m lost” it could very well be a tactic to distract you or someone running game on you 🤷♂️ I’ve helped people in these type moments but I def kept my guard up
I find it crazy people in America would do this type of prank with the amount of guns and shootings. People kill others for stepping on their lawn, why would they try an attack prank?
Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to mourn the loss of my son. I still remember his last words like it was yesterday. He looked up at the man and said "It was just a prank bro.."
I hate going to the store and want to get it over with soon as possible. I am generally passively in a bad mood when I am there. I can't imagine some asshole trying to mess with me just for fun. They deserve what they get.
just read an article yesterday where a 35 year old mom of twins was at target ended up having to go to the hospital because of some teens trying to prank her. Put a bucket over her head, and it freaked her out so much, she fainted/ hit her head when she fell down, she had epilepsy but i cant remember if it actually caused a seizure or not for her. Prank videos are just absolutely awful, and honestly a burden to society.
I saw many videos with this prank. I really didn't think much of it, but when you put it that way it literally just opens a whole new world for me. You truly can never know how far you can go, while you think that the prank you did was harmless
@@unigodus1554 I mean I cannot fathom some jackasses putting a bucket on my head and it suddenly triggering a panic attack, and I take medications for that shit cause I got a history of panic attacks. My panic attacks are all over relevant serious shit, not straight up Looney Tunes cartoon hijinks. Can you imagine dying over something like this? It's like when David Carradine died after choking himself while jacking off. Absolutely humiliating for the family who survives.
I like how "prank" channels on RU-vid don't get their videos removed for harassment but innocent people minding their own business will get their videos pulled over the pettiest shit ever.
Exactly. When it comes to random people, they have no issues censoring them and removing their channel but when it comes to elsa gate or CP, all of a sudden they need a warrant, permission from the gov, and a blessing of the pope to remove the video
I will never understand how someone could be so desperate for attention on the internet that almost dying doesn’t stop them from doing something like this.
I don't understand how people don't understand. He's so self-absorbed with his image and the prospect of getting rich quick that his life means literally nothing to him. Who cares if he's risking getting shot and dying when he can become rich and famous for the most low-effort retarded shit? In his mind, getting shot was the best thing that could have happened to him - it gained him publicity and views - and he'd gladly invite more for the same rewards of relevancy, views, and cold hard cash.
that’s the thing, I don’t think some of them are starving attention. I think most of them think that they are the attention people should be paying mind to because it’s their “passion” i bet.
He's 21. Most people at that age (especially ones that think pranks are cool) are too proud to admit that they were in the wrong. Add to the equation that it was a published interview where he was asked that question? Yeah, he says he can't wait to get back into it. Aside from the tough guy act, he knows. Oh, he knows. That incredibly painful experience haunts him, guaranteed.
So true, for my job I often speak to people who on the surface look normal enough but are under high emotional stress. Just saying the wrong combination of words can trigger some extremely unreasonable responses and violence.
True but now the guy is charged with assault with a deadly weapon and attempt at murder, I don’t think saying “ I was having a bad day “ or “ he pranked me “ will go over well in court
there's this one kid in one of my school clubs who is probably influenced by people like this. my only experience with him was when he walked up to me, called me a few slurs, called me racist, then threatened to shoot and sue me. he genuinely thinks he's hilariously trolling and it's mystifying. and this man is 18 years of age. social media has ruined us
18? Thats not man, thats still a boy. Social media surely has ruined the younger generation, but a 18 is still a kid. Should still not be attentionwhore.
In all fairness, if social media didn't exist, there'd just be some schoolkids pretending to be his friends, to encourage his "entertaining" behavior - because without any fun social media to show them funny stuff, they'd just take the real life stupid guy who's all too happy to (unknowingly) embarrass himself for their low-level entertainment.
I was in the Dulles mall when it happened, can’t believe it all went down because of a “prank” and we all freaked out over an active shooter situation. The PRANK ended up being the guy was pushing random strangers really hard and recording it. Love to see it.
Pushing people is a dumb prank and a dumb reason to shoot someone. The whole situation is stupid and nobody learned a thing. I used to go to DTC for the theater, but I don't need to run into this kid pranking people. Lol
Idk why people shoot another over a push lay em out if you're so tough. You a coward if you gotta let a gun do the work for you against an unarmed person
I have no idea why these guys get away with the things they do and why RU-vid still pays them for the shitty things they do. How do you get shot in the stomach, and still say "Oh well I'm gonna still do more pranks after this"
How can you say this when you don't even know what the prank was? Edit: Guess some people didn't understand. I'm saying OP shouldn't claim RU-vid needs to demonetize this guy, without actually knowing what he did.
The book stopping the bullet story still blows my mind. We're surrounded by hours of shows like Mythbusters, YT gun and science channels, they all spend hours and hours and thousands of dollars prepping even simple demos to show what it takes to stop a bullet, and never is a live human anywhere near the target unless they have full bullet armor on. Mythbusters had to move heaven and earth to get permission to shoot dull arrows toward one of them to try and do arrow catching. I cannot conceive being that stupid.
@@proofostrich9061 he shot a book at a longer distance. Even if it didn't go through the first time. The force alone could kill you. I'm not buying that it didn't go through though. I can not believe that happened. I would have told him flat out no. I was basically born with a gun in my hand. I'd never shoot at anyone period. Blanks can go through phone books.
The thing is, in the past, before Clear Ballistics was handing out gel blocks left right and centre, quite a few YT channels that did ammo test videos used things like phone books or stacks of magazines to catch the projectile. There are still channels out there that use a stack of wet magazines as a measure of penetration. You'd be surprised at the the kinds of bullets that can be caught with a box of printer paper. Emphasis on box though.
@@kylespevak6781 Ah yes, itd a copy pasta so therefore it couldn't possibly be a bot, what great flawed logic. They have posted 117 comments, all the same exact phrase, with 0 responses to anyone else's comment. Its a bot, dumbass. 😭🤣
The fact that after getting shot, his views and subs sky rocketed, and he said he's going to keep doing those kind of videos, in my mind is going to put a very dangerous thought in young kids heads that if they cheat death in a video, they'll become an internet sensation
Not only did he get shot, but he's actually seriously harmed the life of the person he pranked who now has to endure investigation for the shooting. And he's proud of that and wants to do more of it... Edit: When I made this comment no one knew the nature of the prank. I still don't know it. And the video outlined several scenarios where force would be justified (pranks that involved running at people with a fake knife). At no point have I ever said it is justified to shoot someone for general obnoxiousness or in any situation where you don't feel your life is immediately in danger. So I'm not going to keep explaining this to responders that don't read the discussion.
Once everything comes out in court,, that right there will be used for sure. His interview after did not help him at all. Not knowing anything about this yet, I see the prankster kid takin a long fall

Holy shit. I work right across the street from the Dulles Town Center mall and this dude was in our business on 2 days prior to him being shot. We asked him not to film and to leave, and he did... but then he came back on another day and tried to do the same shit. Uncanny. We were open when this all went down and people were coming in telling us it was an "active shooter event", which I guess it was while he was being shot, but that phrase really shouldn't be used for one person being shot once.
And especially when you do it in America the odds of someone having a gun being much higher than other places it’s just a matter of time where a prankster would get shot when pretending to assault someone or whatever they decide to do.
Just for Laughs Gags are the only people I've seen do actual good not mean pranks. I think they are still going, I remember watching them like 20 years ago
NOT MEAN? Like dumping a bucket of water on a strangers head on the street in a "construction accident", like blowing glitter all over them in a fake office job interview, or pretending to rob a car.? JFLGags has plenty of mind fucky situations that get people riled up. It's just that Canadians can take a joke/stressful situation AND don't have guns.
The unverified rumor is that the prank was running up to random strangers to accuse them of being on the state predator list, violating the 1500m rule, and he's putting them under citizen arrest. If that's the truth, its absolutely no wonder why anyone involved won't go on record to verify it. Nor can I imagine the thought process to come up with such a prank and think this will end with sparkles & sunshine instead of gunpowder & pain.
@@Dr._Heinz_Doofenshmirtz Jebus.... that's almost as an amazingly winner of an idea for a prank. I truly see this dunce as a future Darwin Award recipient.
The sad part is the guy who shot him is still in jail even though it was a legitimate self-defense case. The jury found him not guilty on the attempted murder charge, but found him guilty on some law in Virginia that says you can't discharge a firearm indoors or something like that.
All depends on what the "prank" was. Annoying someone and bluffing a threat are different things. I.g: Blasting a whoopie cushion in someone's face VS waving around a Pringles-can covered in duct tape, wires, and batteries.
That knife incident is incredibly terrifying. If someone rushed up to me with a knife, I wouldn’t hesitate to shoot them. The idea that they can just turn around and say “it was just a prank bro” and I can serve jail time is horrifying. I’m brown as fuck too, so I can only imagine what a judge would hit me with. Someone needs to do something about these stupid “pranksters”.
@@JITCompilation fr, you run at me with a knife in a parking lot and, assuming I have a gun on me, expect me to NOT use it??? Especially in the US, at a certain point you’re just begging for a Darwin Award.
The phrase play silly games and win silly prizes springs to mind. I agree with you totally he didn’t deserve to get shot if he wasn’t being threatening or violent. But at the same time if he’s going around bothering people potentially causing stress / duress to them. then imo he definitely deserves a good hiding for it at least.
I think pranks were originally made to cover up shitty, asshole behavior. If the victim gets mad and defends themselves their the bad guy because it's a "joke" and they get labeled as soft and sensitive. Also, it's hilarious to me that someone will literally go out their way to harass and attack people as a "prank" then get surprised when they land in jail.
Nah a lot of pranks are genuinely funny. Imagine reinventing the history of pranks because there's a new generation of asshole attention seekers using pranks to get famous.
Think it was the movie The Ten (Reno 911 group) “It was a goof” skit. A dr does something horrible that kills a patient and he keeps telling everyone “it was a goof, is everyone insane? It was a joke” Judge- “your joke was sewing a pair of scissors in your surgery patient’s body?!” Dr Goof- “yes you get it!” Clank! (Prison doors shutting)
What’s crazy is that someone thought “charging this person with a knife and threatening his life” was a not only a fantastic idea, but executed it. Like at what point during that “prank” is it an actual prank?
This happened (not with a knife anyway) to a guy who wanted to do fake shakedown attempts on people at atms to freak them out or as a social experiment and one guy came in and punched him so hard he broke his nose wide opened, it was pretty fucking bloody
Why cant we go back in time where sitting on someones face and unleashing your mightiest fart was the best joke ever, where everyone could laugh and have fun together.
No one mentions that *30 people* watched that couple pick up the book, pick up the gun, load the gun, line up the shot, probably even said "Ready?" "Ready!" and fire without anyone ever trying to stop them. Who was this audience?
As a number of channels have said, people keep pushing the limits so they would stick out in the sea of pranksters, and it overstepped the boundaries multiple times over.
His father said he was 2just having fun" and supports him in future pranks. The guy who got shot said he plans to continue doing prank videos. This only ends when he gets killed.
What about the guy who was arrested for "aggravated wounding" he didn't consent to this and reacted as a person probably should (no idea since violence is a last resort.) But they injected themselves into that guy's life and probably ruined it.
I'm not normally the type to take such a dismissive attitude toward human life, but... damn, him saying he can't wait to get back to pranking is just natural selection in action.
Personal responsibility is important, it's not wrong to be dismissive of those who are clearly dismissive of everyone else for the sake of a "prank." Ain't no need to condone that shiz
that actually happened, this guy made a fake robbery "prank" charging people with cleavers, one dude pulled a gun and fatally shot him, his last words being: "It was a prank" or along that
