My Foot was bleeding walking to this city. This is the heart of the war Zone during the cold war. I used to hide in Phu Bia in 1978. So many Chao Fa and Communist fighting over Phu Bia back then.
Wow really ? So you have lots of stories experience in this area in that time , before I just in the news about lots of Hmong Chao fa in this zone in cold war in Laos here , Most of Hmong Chao fa go to USA? or They stop fighting and still live in Xaysomboun ? I have no information about this would be great for sharing some stores with us , Thank you so much for good comments 😄👍🙏🙏
Age 5 I live there. My mother and father died in Long Cheng. I moved in with my grand Ma in 516 village. 1984 we cross the Mekong to Chieng Khan, Thai Land. 1988 we arrive in Rhode Island. I was 11 years old when I arrived in Rhode Island. I have lots of PTSD disorder in that area. I got shot by Viet Cong RPG, got bomb by Allies force while we got captured by the Pathet Lao army. There is no way to hide at the time, everywhere is guns fight and bomb explosions. More like Afghanistan, Tora Bora in 1975.
The green mountains and rolling hills are stunning. So beautiful. The temple in the middle of the greenery Another great ride. Another beautiful vlog Neenee. Thank you. Your biggest fans from Richmond, Va. Harriet and Jim

Saibaidii Neenee,,,what a beautiful change in the area. Bombs and wrecked buildings during the war,,,to a beautiful new small city. So beautiful and green,,and like everywhere in Lao,,the people are so amazing. The food looked zapp zapp too. I hope you found some old people to interview,,be interesting to know what they think of the changes. Stay safe sister Neenee,,Ttyl,,,Marlon
Wow…amazing….you did such good job with this video…..love the history….and yes it has that Switzerland feel about it…Phou Bia mountain is almost 3,000 meters….that’s the tallest in Laos and it is said that it snowed there once a long time ago……perhaps it will snow again soon as climate changes the world….then it will really be the Switzerland of Laos….🎿🎿
Now this town comes as quite a surprise with it's Expressway and modern street lighting. That's certainly progress, although it was quite a relief to get into the town and the quiet of the guesthouse I think. Looking forward to seeing more of this interesting place Neenee. 👍👍😊
