That being said. I was quite furious when he didn’t put Rock And Roll All Nite in the top 20 greatest drum intros. That is instantly recognizable even more then some of the other picks on that list IMO

@MrBrenman Who the hell is Stan? You mean Stanley Eisen aka Paul Stanley, one of rocks greatest voices ever. Why isn't he ever mentioned? The closest thing so far is when he had Chris Jericho on, and Jericho mentions a conversation he had with Gene Simmons, and Beato chuckles at the mention.

@@purplebondsaiyan2987 Hm, interesting. I do not know this for sure. But there are dozens of cover bands and all sorts of KISS podcasts, lots of guys doing Ace solos etc. And they appear to have no problem.

Well, that's your opinion, great. I have a very different perception of the musical quality. For me, the songwriting is immensele underrated. I am curious: Did you actually listen to my examples? As Michael Brandvold says, if you don't like KISS, you're not listening to KISS.

Radioactive is one of my all time favorites. it features extreme qualities of classical strings, opera, and the intro/1st verse transition is hands down awesome!! Great video. Stop the rain.... thought I was the world's only kiss fan who appreciated this. I expect to see more KISS based vids. Great job!

not being a close-minded jackass, but I'm just going to ask, have you given them a chance? also, yeah they have gimmicks, but atleast give them kudos for their showmanship, it's hard as fuck to be moving around and playing, if you want to hear some of their greatest song, try listening to some of their late 80s songs(if you don't want to, it's okay, all I'm asking is to give them a chance(if you haven't already) because some of their songs are really cool)

if it were just costumes and makeup, why aren't there S-load more wannabees looking to make a buck utilizing the same formula. And achieving similar success.

​@@greggyoshimoto8703 I respectfully disagree. There are a S-Load of Artists who have achieved similar success using costumes and makeup. In fact, the trend spans across almost every genre from classic rock to underground hip/hop to modern pop music. Some examples: Alice Cooper, Gwar, King Diamond (Who Gene Simmons himself accused of copying them), Twisted Sister, Mötley Crüe, Poison, Devo, Sia, Daft Punk, DeadMau5, Marshmellow, and MF Doom (RIP).... I think its kind of funny that most "successful" pop artists are promulgated by image and gimmicks rather than musical integrity and work. As opposed to say someone like MF DOOM whom many people didn't even learn of until his passing, yet had a huge underground following based on his lyrical skill and musical talent. That said, imagery is absolutely a form of artistic expression and so I am not knocking any of those artists good or bad for utilizing it. Every band has a certain look, whether intended or not. I believe these things often enhance the musical experience as well but music must come first. My point is simply that KISS, particularly Gene Simmons, is more of a businessman than a musician and good for him. They have achieved great success because of it. Nonetheless, the bottom line is that KISS would not have achieved that success on the strength of their musical/songwriting abilities alone. It takes both to be great in my book and the music is always the top priority. The KISS logo is cool and there are some decent songs that rock and roll but overall I am still not boarding the KISS bandwagon anytime soon. This is just my personal subjective opinion. I am really not trying to offend anyone on here, just enjoy a good music debate! Cheers!

@@jhay3966 I give kudos for showmanship and I have explored many of their albums, specifically Hot In Shade per your late-80s suggestion. Still not my cup of tea but I can understand why some would like the later work. After going through most of their catalog I think the early stuff, "KISS" Alive, and DESTROYER appeal to me the most. That said, with exception to a couple hit songs, I still don't think they come close to their musical counterparts of the mid-70s but there are some cool songs!
