Hey squad! This is definitely going to be a long RPG. So my question for you is, when it comes to the let's play are you cool with us chopping things up? I didn't want to do it the first episode without asking. I feel like giving you 20 episodes is just too much. Maybe suggestions of what you could care less about seeing? Just looking for feedback.

I usually like watching stuff uncut, whenever I need to stop I just pause and come to it later and it's good to know the full series is right there. Buuuut separating it in parts does make more engagement and people look forward to this series. Plus, it gives you guys time before recording the next SGS, so I have no problems if you dudes want to chop it up c:

Just to correct some of what was said at the beginning about Cthulu and the "mythos" as it were. Lovecraft's stories were never intended to create a coherent or logical pantheon or universe, in fact many of his stories were about much the opposite; the terror of the seeming chaos of existence and insignificance of everything we know or could possibly know. Even the Old Ones and the Great Race were inconsequential to the universe, as at any moment the Idiot God Azathoth could unwittingly end all of existence, and everything in it wouldn't even be a memory. The horror creeps in when you realize that even in spite of their own insignificance, the elder things make humanity look pitiful and wretched. Our existence is so minute on the grand scale that we barely even have the honor of being forgotten.

Agreed. Although even though we only last seconds on the cosmos' clock; humans being remembered for a brief while over important or petty achievements despite our insignificance is still important. That's what makes life beautiful honestly; all mortal beings' tenacity despite the greater indifferent scheme of the universe. But that's just my take on how a hero could emerge for the Lovecraft world's grim actuality. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Now, I won't spoiler anything. BUT You will need your great deductive skills you had with guessing the stories with this one as it has multiple endings depending on your sanity and the clues you find. You might not even know you got the case wrong and madness will twist proofs and clues around.

I'm not entirely happy with the cold opening.... I generally feel like a good horror story is much -much- better served without a cold opening (especially with the bog standard flesh piles that you see in almost every damn horror related thing these days). But yes, I'm looking forward to this, and really hope they do Eternal Darkness someday!

Same. ED is a real classic, but at the same time, I don't know if the guys would have the patience to really appreciate it in its slower parts. On the other hand, I want to see them scared to tears and thusly I suggest 'The Exorcist: Legion VR'. It's different than what they've done previously, but dammit if it wouldn't be satisfying to hear them scream.

Hey Sir Cox, am I crazy, or have I not seen you much on the Beard Boi's channel? It's super possible I've missed it, but it's just so nice when ya'll together. Rubbin' your beta-male testosterone together into one, fully charismatic male lead, makes for some top-tier nerd juice. It's good for my eye's 'n ears, and I'm pretty sure I play better when I have you on my second monitor. I'm trying to 100% MGS5, & Shadow of Mordor, and also at least spend a few minutes a day working on my first Cities Skylines city. I need all the nerd vibes I can get. I'm climbing' Everest over here! Anyway, I love y'all, keep not being dead and recording it at the same time. It's pretty sweet when you do that.

A warning to anyone going off to read Lovecraft's work: while the man did do a lot for the world of horror literature, dude had issues--mental instability, crippling phobias, a heaping helping of racism, etc. Not that you shouldn't look into his works, but keep these things in mind as you read.

If the studio has aligned this as closely as possible to the tabletop RPG (and so far it looks like they're pretty close) then 9/10 of the endings will involve the main character going insane, dying and/or ending up in an institution, and Humanity being doomed. Only one of the endings will be "Good," that is: Your character lives but everything is on fire, you have no idea what the f*ck you just encountered, and Humanity is still doomed only the timetable gets pushed back. Looking forward to playing it and going mad.

Was thinking about purchasing this game but there seems to be a lot of bad reviews going up for it so it's nice that I can watch you guys for now. Some of it is just people complaining about some of the random stuff in it, not realizing Call of Cthulhu has been a tabletop game for a while now. Others are sighting Cyanide as not the greatest developer, which is honestly fair. I like some of their other games but they are lacking in some respects.

For some reason it really bothers me that Pierce sounds exactly like Jonathan Reid from Vampyr to me, but I can't find a verification anywhere whether they're both voiced by Anthony Howell. Howell's IMDB page only mentions Reid.

Am I the only one who thought Jesse was just calling the SGS incompetent 😂😂 I thought he just meant that they wouldn't be able to find anything occult because they're bad lol😂

I know this playthrough has been out a couple months now, but i bet they will get one of the 2(3?) lesser endings over the occult ending where you Completely give into madness which is by far the better ending than the other train wrecks of endings, let's see if i win or lose that bet.
