100% an issue in Destiny 2. The amount of times I have had to convince people not to kick me cause my build is not "meta" even though I know it works good enough and it's more fun the the same ol crap meta
Second error. It wasn't the ship exploding that killed Midgardsormr.. The Agrias pierced a font of aether below the lake, and the massive burst of aether killed Midgardsormr and changed the landscape.
ONE error... Dalamud was NOT a "red" moon at that time. It BECAME red when Nael began summoning it. It was originally white, looking mostly like a particularly large star next to Menphina. It turning red was the first omen that something was wrong.
mate you cant just put the whole ending to 1.0 in their like that, I was not prepared 😭😭 1.0 might not have been a great game but it did have a great story to tell and that ending cutscene is imo one of the best this industry has ever seen
As a Legacy player who played to the very end (I was only not able to fight the White Raven at the end cause we couldn't get enough players together), it was nice to see someone covering this. So much history we as those who played through, that so many never got to see like we did. Gives them the chance now to know what happened five years before 2.0 started. And why those of us 'marked', well, what our characters went through before being time thrown forward XD Also Legacy cutscenes in 2.0 are <3 but that is another story. ;) Thank you for covering this! <3
You skipped way too much important stuff right at the end with Louisoix and what he did to save everyone and what actually happened when Bahamut destroyed everything.
Also look at the pinned comment "Reminder to my lore nerds, this entire series is designed not to spoil things for people playing through the game. If there’s a fact that we learn later - I will include it when we learn it."
I went back to watch the End of an Era recently. Based on that cinematic, Bahamut's rampage lasted 90 seconds. This means the sheer catastrophic continent altering calamity happened because Bahamut was unleashed for a minute and a half. Loiusoix didnt just save Eorzea, he saved civilization.
This and about every cutscene other than Stormblood and Endwalker still gets me to tear up a little. Something about the presentation is just beautiful and coupled with the somber music makes it all that more impactful. STB and EW are good cutscenses too but they're just more upbeat and the characters don't really feel like they're in danger, showing signs that they're in control of the situation unbeknownst to their opponents.
You make listening to you very easy and engaging Jesse, I have a hearing condition that makes it hard to focus and follow along for too long sometimes but it is very easy to stay engaged with you as the way you emphasise and your cadence is very easy to follow (you keep it interesting to process). 🥰
My wife’s issue: everything is too pretty. She wants monsters. My issue: ADHD. I cannot focus at all on any of the story, and it’s not something I can force a hyper focus on.
Showing this godsdamned cinematic at the end of the video is a low blow, Jesse! Worse of all - it works. Again it worked on me. It always does. Every. Single. Time...
I have to wonder now, where did the passing of the leadership happen? Or did they just keep the story that was already in progress when setting up for 2.0
Whoever wrote the story for 1.0 was 100% a 40k fan. The player just happens to be playing as the Xenos. I also have a theory on what happened with the end of 1.0, but that gets spoilery.
God, it is ridiculous how good the animations look in comparison to a Realm Reborn. Arguably, we don't have as good animations in Endwalker. No wonder the rest of the mechanics were as bad as they were if they put that much time into making the graphics look that good on the early PS3. Though it does hit me in the face with how needlessly brown everything was in this generation of gaming. Just an awful filter on everything.
First off as someone who just started playing FF14 earlier this week I have to say these Lore videos and this 1.0 Video gives ALOT of insight on questions I have had since the start. So thank you for not only answering some of those questions but also giving me something to watch during game maintenance. There are so many more story questions I have right now as Im on the level 27 MSQ that will hopefully get answered as I get through the story. I look forward to your future FF14 videos and really appreciate the work you put into these videos and the information give, and also the non spoilers and working in timeline order as information is given to the player.
I am playing this game now and, so far, am consistently impressed by the number of places they have added lined to match what you do. For instance, leaving the gate for the first time (2:23:27 in this video), I was still riding the strider and Varl made a comment about it after the cutscene. Something like "Did I see you RIDING a strider?!" Everything else played out the same, but the addition of little details like that has been great.
Very great video. Having no context ever on what 1.0 was and jumping in straight at Heavensward, I had no idea how everything tied together. Thank you for the Answers to my questions and how everything neatly ties together into the epic finale/beginning. It truly hits different with all of the lore, chills and tears thinking about all of the history. Looking forward to more of this series 😃
