HAHA when ya'll complain, it cracks me up. I'm in ATL and we have 98 degrees and humidity at 60% and up. You are dripping by 7am. You garden early in the morning and have to refresh containers in the afternoon, sometimes 3x day.....but as you say, "it's fine". lol

So true about the humidity! It's pretty oppressive at times.

Hi Robbie and Janey. I always love it when you two are together in videos. You always seem to be having so much fun. Yes, reflection of the sun off of a mirror can start fires. Years ago my daughter had a mirror on the floor in her room and the sun reflecting off of it was about to start a fire on her carpet. Luckily we saw it smoking so it didn't cause too much damage. Thank you for answering my question. And I have the little flyer I picked up at the Plant Barn folded and in my phone since I got it. The Summer Soiree is July 19th and 20th. For anyone who sees this and is able to go. The sales are: 33% off all outdoor plants; 53% off select items in the barn; 73% off any item with a yellow tag. And there is a spin the discount wheel, I think for those that are in a "flowerified" outfit. Also, I meant actual sales at the big box stores - Home Depot and Lowe's. I frequent the clearance at Lowe's weekly (usually the same varieties of plants over and over) but I was watching other RU-vidr's highlighting sales at Home Depot and Lowe's in their area for 4th of July and after for the heat sales to clear out the plants so they don't have to go the the half-dead clearance rack. Like on one of Hello Garden's recent video's. So I watched some of these videos and got excited, grabbed my keys and went skipping out the door and headed to both big box stores and there were no sales. I know each store varies but there are so many times when others are highlighting and remarking about the good "sales" not clearance and Chico big box doesn't have any of that going on. But that's how I found out about the Summer Soiree!!

Yes the humidity is torturous here in Florida, so I know the struggle!! Sunrise isn't until 6:30 here.. so by 7 you can see outside.. but everything's wet, the mosquitoes are relentless!! And you're sweating and everything's sticking to you.. but if you try to wait until it starts cooling off in the evening, then you get rained out by the daily thunderstorm!!! Gardening has proven to be pretty challenging here!! But determined to have beautiful things in my yard, I find a way to get through it!! It's crazy how different my zone 9b is from yours😂 Love the videos, and the bond you two have!!❤

Thank you for talking about humidity. Sunny Florida 10a with 90-100% humidity everyday. Wanna talk about swamp a$$ come down here, lord you be praying for dry 115 degrees. My plants have to really want to live to make it thru July, August & September.

I definitely spray water on my boxwoods to prevent spider mites in the summer. It’s been super helpful in combatting spider mites. It works.

Yes - I'm in 95-100 degree temps here in Raleigh, NC lately - with 100% humidity. You walk outside and can't breathe it's so heavy and what I call "soupy" outside. Within 5 minutes, you're sweating buckets! And it feels this way whether it's 100 or 85! Ick!

I feel so seen hearing y’all mention how horrible the humidity is. I’m in Kansas and it is just gross when you feel soaking wet after five minutes. Or when your glasses fog up from it. YUCK. I enjoyed the Q&A with Janey! 😊

As I'm watching this video, it's 90 in Iowa. But with the 70% humidity it feels like 101. I have so many garden things to do but once it gets above 85 it's very unlikely that I will step outside

Welcome to the Midwest! We had 3 inches of rain Sat. night and 91 degrees through Monday. Lots of storms. Humidity in WI so bad we can't see out our windows this morning. Also bombarded with mosquitoes for the first time ever. We're hoping this isn't our new normal.

Humidity! I’m in Florida 9b or 10a (who knows). It’s like “what garden “ from mid June to end of September and that’s the rainy season! The bugs love it, the plants hate it and you can’t liquid feed bc everything is get too much water already! But come October through May it’s good

Northwest Michigan, zone 6. Current temp is 70° with 91% humidity. Forehead Sweat drips just walking around the yard. Thankful I have Grand Traverse Bay and Lake Michigan to cool down ( no AC In my home!)

I’m visiting in Ohio right now, a couple hrs from Columbus 12:40 at night it’s 74 with 84% humidity I live in Alabama and the time is a hr behind so at 11:30 it’s also 84% humidity but still at 83 , it’ll be 92 the next couple days, as hot and humid as it is here in Ohio it’s nothing like Alabama or Florida I lived there for 20yrs also. If you’re gonna garden there ya gotta keep that hose near ya and stay wet. I’ve never lived anywhere without humidity .I can only wish of one shower a day,😂

Here in the South Carolina it is 89 degrees with 68% humidity at 10:45 in the morning. Earlier this morning, the humidity was 95%. As you are finding out, it can be miserable. I call my look after gardening for a couple of hours the Sasquatch hairstyle. It has truly been one of those garden years where you question, "Why do I do all of this?" First, the cicadas (4 weeks) which terrified me as the gardener, and then five weeks of drought with 95-105 temps. We finally got rain and the five inches in one weekend brought in powdery mildew. Truly, you know its a struggle when black eyed susans are dying. I just have to laugh and just appreciate that any of my plants are still living. Thankfully, the two of you make me laugh!

Lol yes the heat in California is very different than in the east. I too would rather have the dry heat you all have. Alas though I am here in Kentucky hot and humid.

We are in Virginia zone 7 and today it's going to be 99 and the humidity is almost 60%. The silver lining is that it's a 3 month issue, but then we have four seasons to contend with 😂Have fun at the show!

Janey - you are totally right about spraying your plants to prevent spider mites. We are usually hot and humid here, but we had a couple weeks early in the season where it was hot and dry and all of my hydrangeas got spider mites. 😢 Trying to get rid of spider mites after your plants are already infected is the worst. I think I have gotten rid of them, but I still check them everyday because I am paranoid now about spider mites. 😂

Is everything OK with Janey? There were 2 days last week that she didn't post videos. 🤔 I love when you two make videos together ❤️. It's so much fun!!😊

Hello guys, now you know what I deal with in MS, the humidity is crazy! A few years ago I found an old paned window on the side of the road and cleaned it up and spray painted a mirror finish on the back side. It is hazily reflective and I love it. It is hung on my workshop in my only shady area. I put a window box under it.

Yep, in Minnesota the last two days is what they call Oppressive heat. You know it’s bad when the news has heat alerts ‼️

Duke Gardens in NJ used to have a room with Massive Arched Mirrors and Green Lattice over them. Lovely !

It’s 94 in today in Houston but feels 106 bc of us being at 51% humidity.

I knew that humidity would get you! I lived in it 18 yrs. You both said you don't fertilize clematis. I read it is a heavy feeder, so I have been feeding it a lot. It's not really growing fast and no flowers yet.

Reflecting heat with mirror? Absolutely not! I had an issue during the Glass Fire where the reflected light from a picture frame ( grandmothers wedding picture) , sitting in my car, while I was evacuating, ignited the head liner of my car on fire! NEVER EVER put a mirror where it can reflect glare on to a flammable material. It is no joke. My car almost burst into flames, ,,,

OK. so now I know it's OK to complain about my 90 degree heat when other's like you are so much hotter. I live on the coast of Vancouver Island in Campbell River and we most definitely have high humidity all the time.

Maybe succession release of beneficial insects. Since we plant something’s to have continuous harvest why couldn’t you do the same with releasing beneficial insects…just saying💗
