Some Tube Definitions/Explanations for those that need them: NJ = Naso-jejunal tube NG = Naso-gastric tube PEG = percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube PEG-J = Percutaneous endoscopic transgastric jejunostomy tube PEJ = Percutaneous endoscopic jejunostomy tube There are more like a RIG etc but if you’re after a rarer tube type look it up :)
I also have Gastroparesis & really struggle with solid food. My problem is that I am never physically hungry, ever & it’s so hard to eat when you’re not hungry. Thankfully, I am rarely sick, in fact I have a phobia of it. Thank you for explaining about your feeding tube & eating. Also, head hunger is awful.
Aww Julie I completely understand. One of the hard things with Gastroparesis is the fullness feeling, I can sometimes have half a biscuit and feel like I’ve eaten 10 meals it’s crazy. Hope you are doing okay 💖💖
It really does doesn’t it! It’s so difficult to explain to other people when they may not of been in the situation to not be able to have food, but when you can’t have it, all you hear about is food and all you smell is food 😂❤️
You are one courageous young woman, Miss Beth! I've been on a food tube for a month, it's temporary, i cant imagine not enjoying eating normally. You're very positive and encouraging.
Once again, so dear Beth, you leave me with wet eyes. Once again you explain things very clearly. As you know I am not neither a Doctor neither a scientist, but because I am deeply touched by your situation, I have checked to verify my poor knowledge and yes, the digestive process is not only a stomach, the digestive process starts by the the mouth the teeth to chew the tongue for all its possibilities of treating the food, giving it the taste. I am totally convinced that Doctors and you are right to tell you ton continue to drink and eat. My ignorance could be a question : what would be the effects if she would stop to eat and drink on her chewing and jaws muscles? The other point is about your stomach itself, I even sent a message on Instagram to ask if it it possible to replace partially or totally your stomach ? If a partial transplant could help you, I guess we are a lot to be ready to give a part of ours. Once again, a huge thank you to be this incredible hero, simply naturally explaining these lessons of life. I have no doubt you deeply touch all of us, and you do it with this so adorable smile. all my total respect, my admiration and my thoughts to Mister J, your Family and YOU
Thank you for your informative video! I just wanted to ask: I support a couple young adults who do not eat at all. They are permanently on their own feeding tubes that are set to a schedule that provides their liquid nutrients. These young people also have cognitive variabilities so whether they intently recognise that some of the other YA I support can and do eat - I don’t know. Normally they do different things during lunch such as listening to music or stretching out on soft mats for their physical needs and recreation. But I’ve been wondering whether during these times it would be a good idea to use lunchtimes as an occasion for sensory smell interactions? Such as smelling fragrances and scents, maybe akin to food or not, to give them a similar yet different sensory experience as eating does for those who eat. We enjoy the taste of food, which relies on smell, so would creating that kind of space for them be beneficial? Or do you think it would be a bit condescending and insulting, even with good intentions? Genuinely would appreciate some insight! ^^ God bless you
Thank you! Yes yes yes!!! Tube placement tomorrow . Food network is like porn and even liquids cause pain. Epi and I had my Gastro Paresis tell me I just had sore muscles for the long time. Now GP is happening and only one antiemetic works but could cause dyskinesia, as well as gabapentine and hyoscyamine. Possibly also diabetes type 3c. Nerve damage caused diabetes. So sick and scared. Exhausted and no glucagon. So much to learn. Do you worry about Barrett’s esophagus?
Ps. Great channel I’m another obsessed with tea! It’s the only thing I can occasionally keep down or I can drain it. Other than that I’m totally J tube dependent. X
My heart bleeds for you ! I have a ton of health issues. Last week my new consultant told me I have hypermobility disorder, suspected arthritis, a blood clotting disorder, POTs and Ehlers Danlos
One time I had to get a feeding tube because my stomach was like really bad and I wanted to eat so bad But I can’t eat because of my feeding tube it’s different for me(by the way, I love your channel) and also I had to go back to the hospital again for the feeding tube. My stomach comes back😢
I’m having my G-POEM surgery tomorrow so hopefully today is my last day with my NJ tube. I still eat as well even though it comes up, I’m starving all the time so I need to eat to help with that, even if it only stops the hunger for 10 mins before the food comes up.
Oh my goodness good luck!! I will be thinking of you ❤️ you will have to let me know how it goes! I completely understand, the feeds just don’t fill me up in the slightest and if I didn’t eat I would literally just be hungry all day it’s so annoying! ❤️
It really would be! I do have some days that I am just tired thinking about eating and the whole cycle I put myself through but like I said in the video every situation you seem to be surrounded by is food! When I was on my NJ tube only I swear people was starting to turn into food!! 😂😂❤️
Yes unfortunately my teeth are a mess at the moment, they are cracked, yellow, painful and they are also extremely thin. Small bits of teeth fall out of mouth all the time. I’m currently going through some procedures to sort them out which I’ve recorded a few of on my channel xxx
@@bethgallery1140 Thanks for the reply. I have always wondered that. As I have seen people with both a feeding tube and an I.v. or port. And so, I assumed you couldn’t. But now I know better ❤️. Thanks girl. I hope you have great holidays. Hugs
