Great vid, thanks! I think one thing I've also learnt while GN related to collapses is the wing loading, which maybe wasn't super obvious in your answers. I tend to bend my knees a bit and put load on my wing through the harness / chest strap, and feel the constant "connection" with the glider. I've seen a lot of people getting collapses on their take-offs because they pull the wing up, maybe even brake in time, but when they turn around, they stand up straight, and end up unloading the glider, which changes the angle of attack. Hope that helps for some people :)

I think of flying like being in medical school. Even after you « graduate », you still learn, the process doesn’t end. A pilot who doesn’t ground handle is like a doctor who doesn’t read/learn. You can still do it but you won’t be good.

Awesome! Nice to see those faces! GH retreat is high on my travel wish list. Do you happen to know what a US pilot needs to do to be able to fly in Portugal? Do your students often add on some flying time to their visit after the retreat?

Come over! Usually just your license p3 or above and insurance. It’s nice if you can get an IPPI card from your ushpa rating. Yeah some people stay a bit longer and some times during the retreat there’s an opportunity to fly but not always
