I'm on my way to german med (hopefully charite if it works), from a nonEU country, and i can tell u all, the process is darn tiring and demanding haha. It's not as easy as it sounds and the pathway is complicated. It's complicated for students abroad in general, but especially for non-EU countries. They have so many different requirements.

its very very competitive. every us german student have a very hard time being accepted. some wait a very long time! you need to apply and take all necessary actions, write the TMS or Hamnat for a better score and hope for the best

British students such as igcse need 3 a levels and 1 AS language such as english, french. incase of medicine/dentistry then C1 german level and 3 a levels , bio and chem are compulsory but the third could be math or physics. beside the AS language you need. you need a bank account with a minimum of 4000-8000 euro (depends on your university) and have to add to it per month when you arrive. results should be A*,A,B,B+ but the higher the grade the better the chance
another thing to add on what Jomana said, the AS language subject MUST be in a different language than your own (so if your native language is English, you cant take that for AS and so on)
@@mathani9843 but most university websites are not demanding an AS in language. Just searched RWTH Medizin and they're only asking for any 3 subs from Maths, Bio, Chem , Phy and Comp.

the level of german and the certificate is different from each school. you should look that up specifically. Applying before finishing school doesn't help, because you need to put your grade in for the application. But I would recommend starting with learning german if you haven't already.

hi, well that is more of the typical age of the students. From my observation, fewer students start medical university right after high school (maybe because it's really hard to get in)

Hi! Here in Europe we don't have the same system as the U.S. We don't do pre-med, and than medical school. We just have one thing, so kind of like medical uni, and than we have our residency and become doctors
hi, would taking studienkolleg help in getting admitted in medizin? like if gpa isnt enough? because i finished a non stem based curriculum in high school so i dont have the recquired science subjects.. but also ive already completed a whole year of a premed course, would that change anything? thank youu~
hii, they dont look the subject you took in high school. It's only important that you have a high GPA. If not, you have to do this test called TMS to get a higher score. But having finished a year of premed is very good when you start or when you're learning for this entrance test. It will make things easier for you but its not a requirement. Hope I could help! hi, normally it's 6 years. But if you have a previous degree it is possible to have it recognized and your time shortened but that's very rare. Look up the requirements for your country and learn the language. I wish you good luck if you're applying to colleges.

hi, yes it's definitely possible. just write the hospitals you like an email with your application and they will reply ( may be a bit difficult right now because of corona)

I checked out my school leaving certificate on anabin, and it gave me two options. It says I need to take a studienkolleg (for all courses) to all universities. And the second option is direct access (subject-oriented) for the previous subject and related subjects with proof of 1 successful academic year (s) to all universities. I am completing my scientific section/path certificate of high school and I want to apply for medicine. Will I be able to apply without a studienkolleg?
Hi farah,hope you're enjoying your day So you ment that if we are an international student and we already have our diploma, there's no need to pass any tests in germany to get to the medical university? We can apply and directly get to medical uni using our diploma and German language proficiency?
it depends if your diploma is even recognized. if not you would need to do Studienkolleg. But doing that doesn't guarantee you a place to study medicine. So when you apply you are competing with others in term of grades or test scores. Most people enter after having written an entrance exam ( HAMNAT or TMS etc)
Not a medical student, but from germany and I know some people who study medecine. You can work, but that makes your day a lot more stressful. In Germany, we have institutions in place to keep you from having to work as a student, for example something similar to a loan, called Bafög, which is ,under certain conditions, also applicable for non-german Students. You get a certain amount of money every month, and after your time in uni is over you only have to pay half of your loan. Other options are scholarships or jobs at the university, e.g. being an assistant to one of the professors. This job actually fits in neatly most of the time, I'm fairly certain that this option exists no matter what you study, so also medicine. "Studentenwohnheime", which are single rooms or flats provided by the university, are usually very affordable, even for us poor students :D Also, other costs that would be a problem in other countries, especially the US, like healthcare, are not really problematic here.
just go directly to studienkolleg, you will need at least b1 level in german and after you pass the Feststellungsprüfung of Studienkolleg (the final big exam) you will be allowed to study at almost any unversity in germany
@@aestheniss9454 can't we take uni for a year and skip studienkolleg? It kinda gets a bit expensive from my part bc universities is generally cheaper here. My point is if I do bachelor in science for a year in my home country (so I have 13 years of education), do I still need to do studienkolleg?
if you graduate from a german medical university can the hospital that they cooperate to take you immediately to work there in order to be specialist ?? or you must alone look for a hospital ??
@@farahdiaries Assalamu 'Alaikum. I wanted to ask you something regarding studying medicine in languages other than English. If you have already done a video on this, merely share the link. This is the doubt: If you're studying medicine in German, will that be an impediment for you to collaborate-be it for research or for practice-with someone who has received his/her medical education in english medium? Or is it the case that since almost all of the scientific terms and by that extend medical ones are in Latin the only barrier would remain the language used for communication? I remember reading about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle going to Austria to pursue his higher studies in medicine but dropping the course because he found it difficult to understand the medical terms being used in the classes because they were in German. Is this still the case?
