Love this video! At first I thought "53 minutes! I don't know if I can watch that long." But it went really fast and I really enjoyed it! I was born in Mass, and lived in Mass and NH before moving to IN when I was 7. I've never been back. My Mom had never been out of New England until she was married. She always missed it after we moved to IN. I've always had a fondness for New England. My mothers family came here from England in 1633, so I feel a connection too. We had a pumpkin delivered to our house from a dear friend with a black permanent pin and direction to write daily what my household was thankful for. It has been so much fun. I just leave it on the island for all to see and participate. I plan to use it for my Thanksgiving Table.

Linda, I call your style "New England Eclectic." I love your videos. You almost make this Southerner want to move to New England. I have a question. I love the music in your 2019 Christmas home tour video, especially an instrumental that I've never heard before. Since I don't know the name, I can't obtain a copy of the piece. Hi Linda, I know that this was posted several months ago; BUT... have you thought about removing the bottom of your pumpkin instead of carving from the top? (use a bucket that has a smaller circumference that is "narrower" than your pumpkin. Turn the pumpkin upside down so that the stem is inside the bucket (line the rim of the bucket with a soft cloth so as not to damage the top) and begin carving out the bottom. [that way you don't necessarily need to save the bottom and you can use a metal or cement/terracotta saucer to hold your candle and carved pumpkin]) The stem remains secure, less fuss and less of a mess ...Just a thought?!?!

Even though this video is 2yrs. ago, I just had it show up on my You tube. I'm a newbie to your channel and I've been watching them as they show up. Love watching your videos. They inspire me, give so much information, especially on some of your gardening and they give me new ideas. Your pumpkin came out cute, one of those pumpkin carving knives would of been better to get around the leaf drawing easier. Loved hearing a little bit about your life, its always nice to know a little about someone you enjoy watching their videos. I'm so sorry you have been through so many health problems, you sure don't show any signs of ever being sick, thats a big plus to you. I went through breast cancer 13 yrs ago in June. So I know looking healthy doesn't mean you feel healthy. I had over a year of treatment and reconstruction. God Bless you Linda, I will keep you in my prayers 🙏

True Colonial design is more formal, Country more casual. Colonial is finer quality furniture in cherry and mahogany, luminous finishes on wood and lighting, with Oriental rugs, versus more "make do" functional furniture in pine and oak with less fussy or formal accessories like woven or braided rugs (Country).

I hate to be a party pooper, but I can't watch long video's , 20 minutes is the max for me.Most of the channels I subscribe too are 20 minute more or less. I find that the longer the video the less likely I am to watch it, even if I have liked the content in past video's.. I managed to hang in there with this video because it was interesting to hear you have a conversation while performing a task. They are actually my favorite video's. I find it extremely difficult to just watch video's with someone just sitting & talking, I need to see action too. Some type of movement, scenery, crafting, cooking, gardening, etc. I love your style, its classic, not too trendy, a good mix of old & new. Now I've got to go carve a pumpkin or two !

My husband and I spent 3 months traveling the east coast the end of last year. What a magical part of our country in the fall. I love Colorado where I have lived my whole life. My home has a spirit...My Grandchildren said "She" is a little girl and has a big bow in her curled hair. 1880 home here and I have to say she is friendly and seemed to love the playroom where the banister was back in the day. The former owner sadly took the home apart. Under the rug showed where the banister was from upstairs and down in my home.

Thank you for sharing your stories! - another way to manage hanging a picture with 2 fixtures on the back is to thread a string or picture wire through the two loops, or through the two 'teeth' brackets, and tie it in a loop, so that it creates a double cord for which you only need one nail or hook on the wall, at the center point, and can balance the picture easily

Linda. I live n New Mexico. I think your sage type is one that doesn’t burn well for smudging. Common Native American traditions here. They grow a specific type.

My 9th great-grandmother Frances Alcock Hutchins was also accused and arrested (on August 19, 1692) of practicing witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials. Her son paid her bond in Dec 1692. The trials ended shortly after so she never stood trial. She was in her 80s at the time.

Cut the bottom out to clean it out. LED light and then the top stays nice and does not mold and fall in.
