I think people truly want to believe in their heads that Jonathan Majors is this awesome actor. What a lot of people don’t know that he’s a new actor, relatively green. he started acting later in life. in an interview, he said he started acting about five years ago. When I saw Loki season one, I was completely blown away, and then I was a little bit disappointed when I saw he who remains… I’m a big marvel fan but I didn’t know who Kang was. Kang is pretty simplistic. He is a time traveler that wants to conquer. what villain doesn’t want to conquer the word & now the vast multiverse? If you want me to believe in this villain, he needs to be more complex than just a conqueror. So where do I begin with Ant-man quantum mania? I loved all the ant Man films, they’re lighthearted, corky, funny and uplifting. Who doesn’t love an underdog story? In Ant-man Quantamania, there are times where jokes are funny, and their times where jokes are inappropriate at inappropriate times when things are supposed to be more serious. You have Hank’s wife Janet, who is terrified of the quantum realm yet an ant man, too. She was totally fine with Scott Lang going into the quantum realm before they blipped.. Fast forward to Ant-man quantum mania Janet is completely terrified of the quantum realm, she doesn’t want to talk about the quantum realm or what she has been through. To make a long story short, Janet talks about how horrific Kang the conqueror is, once they go to the quantum realm. Everyone that lives there talks the big talk about how scary and conniving Kang is. Finally, when we get to meet Kang the conquer At first, he is very serious, and he does seem like somewhat of a threat. He has high technology and can kill you with just conjuring his hands. It took kAng 50 minutes to show up. Fast forward to the battles with Kang to get out of the quantum realm without him he is EASILY defeated. If a whole bunch of ants & Ant Man can defeat him how is he a threat? His powers where inconsistent, at first, he seemed very powerful, and then at the end his powers were very ineffective. You could tell Jonathan Majors was trying his very best at what he was given, but I feel the writers were a tad bit lazy. In this movie, they explain things to you, but they don’t show you. Murdoch is in this film yellow jacket from first Ant Man Kang uses him as the “ultimate killing machine” he’s a big floating head with baby arms and baby legs. The fact that Kang can be around something so stupid makes me less intrigued by him. Remember, Thor love and thunder? It felt like a parody of Thor.. Where is Thor was just one big joke? Then you have an awesome actor like Christian Bale that has a very dark and complex character that you want to enjoy and love, but doesn’t fit in the movie because it’s a silly parody? That’s what happens in this film. Don’t get me wrong I like Jonathan Majors, but the introduction of Kang has fumbled twice. He was easily killed in Loki & easily defeated in Ant man. & we are supposed to be scared of him In loki season 2? Secret wars? Kang dynasty? Come on. I guess if you shut your brain off and you grabbed some popcorn and didn’t think too hard I can see how this movie is enjoyable for some people, but I’ve always loved marvel and their amazing story telling, and their story arcs that all beautifully intertwine with one another. This was a very weak and strange way to kick off phase 5. END CREDIT SCENES So when someone tells you that there’s an end credit scene with a council of Kangs it sounds cool right? When I first saw it, I was in disbelief, you have Jonathan Majors playing king tut kang, scarlet cyborg Kang and I forgot the other kang he had cheap blue paint on his face and sounded like he smoked 20 packs of newports a day. Then you see a trillion other kangs come to the council of Kangs from every possible multiverse and they’re all howling like monkeys from planet of the apes! It felt like an SNL sketch rather than something that is supposed to instill fear into our hearts. Loki season 2 is the only thing I’m excited about but it makes me sick that we have to see Kang so much. You DONT give Ricky & Morty writers the keys to the kingdom of the multiverse saga.

Wow. Did we watch the same kathryn newton? To me, she gave one of the flatest, deadest performances in mcu so far. Shocking how bad she was given that all the other young avengers are pretty likeable. She had the charisma and line delivery of a piece of wood. They shouldntve replaced the endgame cassie. She gave a better performance in her 1 minute on screen than newton did in the whole movie.

Just got home from my screening. I didn't dislike it, but didnt necessarily like it either. Im very on the fence with it. Wasnt a fan of the mid credits execution, and our theatres lights turned on before the end credit scene so we quite literally saw nothing haha. I dont normally let CGI bother me, but some shots looked very "sharkboy and lavagirl" it almost took me out of it at times. I loved Kang and Major's performance was a big part of why. I came away taking the flip side on Rudd and Majors. Despite Majors getting hamstrung by a terrible script with contradictory character development for plot reasons, he excelled in my eyes and really elevated the movie once he appeared. Rudd, on the other hand, was just a frumpy dad that made three faces. It really exposed how shallow his character has been in the AM series when he isn't able to use his charm to bounce of others. Props to Newton who was able to maximize what she could from the script portraying her as the stereotypical teen. And yea, MODOK was terrible. I get he's supposed to be ridiculous looking but he's supposed to be intentionally ridiculous. He's supposed to be menacing, not goofy and glistening. It's amazing now reflecting back to how silent the audience became once he revealed his face. None of MODOKs jokes landed from that point on. Edit - And yea, cosign Pfieffer. She was great and really worked through that terrible wig.

I really enjoyed the movie, really don't have problems with it that some critics say. Sure, MODOK wasn't best CGI, and was a little goofy, but other than that, I really had great time, unlike with Thor Love and Thunder, I really hated that one. It ruined characters, but in this one, characters are as they should be, movie is really creative swith some stuff, and villain is great!

Modok’s human face was the worst CGI I’ve ever seen. So amateur in comparison to some of the other cgi. Did Kevin Feige not go, uhhh ya that needs to be better? I loved Johnathan Majors, but I also never felt Kang was a real threat like Thanos. He wasn’t intimidating and he was defeated like any other standalone villain at the end. He wasn’t set up as the big baddy enough. Hera and Christian Bale were more intimidating than Kang which makes me nervous for the future. Maybe phase 4, 5, and 6 are meant to not be good so they can redeem themselves in 7, 8, 9 with x-men? Haha

Agree with your review largely. I thought the action in particular was very bad with not one memorable setpiece. Also, for whatever reason there was shaky cam in some action scenes which felt very bizarre. Not to mention those scenes also looked rather bad visually. Saw it in IMAX and was really underwhelmed by the cinematography and visual effects compared to Raimi's film last year for example. Kang was good and Majors did a lot considering what was on the page, but the mid-credit scene was real bad. Agree that Rudd, Pfeiffer and Newton are the best parts of the film along with Veb. MODOK was entirely unnecessary and should not have been in the film. Comedy largely worked thanks to comic timing of Ruud, Harper and Dastmalchian. Overall, seems like another MCU film which needed more work on script level and later in post-production to improve VFX. But then again that is unsurprising as we read more and more stories of how poorly Marvel treats its VFX teams by not giving them enough time or money. Thankfully, they are giving them time on 'The Marvels' by pushing release date of that flick. Hoping that it pays dividends.

Quantum Realm to me felt like kids toybox that somebody decided to film. How those people ended up there ? Why there are Mad Max rippoffs mixed with vegitables and Star Wars rejects? Why Michael Douglas character talks about socialism in positive fashion? They are THAT desparate for China market? This is filler cartoon episode of 1990s show . This movie, imo, is popcorn movie even compared to rest of marvel- popcorn movies. Just there because Figie and Disney have raging need to put out 2-3 movies + 5 tv shows a year that nobody can ( or feels like need to) follow (any more).

I think the family dynamic has been throughout the majority of the Ant Man films especially between Scott and Cassie which is fine, the explanation in particularly of the Quantum Realm and alternate dimensions was fantastic. Not knowing as much of Kang who he was was cool at first Jonathan Majors as KANG was 🔥🔥 he knock it out the park, Michelle Pfeiffer was good as well. The movie wasn’t it felt like a tale of 2 half’s. Didn’t have much expectation’s going into it regardless from the disappointment of Ant Man & The Wasp. But the CGI felt so bloated just really all over the place to the point where it takes away from the enjoyment. The writing, pacing was not good in the slightest. Solid Review Perri I feel the MCU has lost some spark & hasn’t yet recaptured it.

I just got out of the movie, and I have to disagree. It doesn't have the gravitas of Wakanda Forever, but this was probably the most fun I've had at a Marvel Anything since Shang-chi (except maybe Werewolf by Night) and I enjoyed the ending of Quantumanium more than Shang-chi. Maybe I'm a Marvel mark because I grew up reading 80s Avengers, but Kang was everything I wanted him to be, and Jonathan Majors was brilliant. Kang always felt like the smartest and most dangerous person in the room, and didn't have to raise his voice to do so. Intimidating in the scene where he coerced a character to do what he wanted, and menacing when explaining what and why his goals were. I didn't have a problem with MODOK personally, if you're talking about the face, because that's what I expected it to look like. I don't know how you make a giant head look more realistic? But those are just my non spoiler thoughts, I really enjoyed the experience and was hyped for more of that during the mid credits.

Personally i think this review was way off. Modok was silly and not needed at all. Hope had a weak role after first scene or two. Other than that this movie wss flawless. And followed a very linear throughline plot. Unlike lots of other movies that bounce arpund between different total things happening.

I loved this movie. Much better than the second and I’m unsure but so far this one is slightly higher than the first one, though that could change on a rewatch.

I hate using one movie, but anyone that threw praise at the boring and overrated THE BATMAN, I just have a hard time taking their opinions seriously anymore. And SOOOOO many people bowed to that turd. At least you weren't crying about the lack of Michael Pena, which has gotta be the lamest thing I keep seeing people complain about.

I loved it. Watched it Wednesday night in Switzerland. Is it perfect, no. Just don't take it too seriously, it's an Ant-man movie.

The mcu will never be the same without RDJ & Chris evans marvel got rid of all the love and what held the mcu together now you got characters most don’t care about. They ruined Thor and made the hulk the joke. I hated the second antman movie it was boring I’m excited for kang that’s it.

Seeing these teenage women making some of the highest tech available in their free time is out of hand. The movie was a mess.. I'd say Michelle And Majors were the best in the film. I woulda rather of had the original ending (what i read) then the one they re-shot in January . I agree with the "Average" score..

What you're struggling with is there's too much comedy anymore. Let the movie be the movie. Stop trying to make things a sitcom.

Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania is good even CGI (Do not compare to way water cgi with 10 years waiting ) Kang Explained Everything for summary of multiverse saga run and the dynasty. This is good because kang is very unknown villain character to others that recently we love to see again.

Just came back from the theatre. Majors is really good as Kang. But that's about the only positive I have. Not the return to form I was hoping for. This is more of the goofy meandering MCU that we got with Phase 4. It's just kind of boring at this point.

Great review! I recommend you see this movie again in 3D. This is one of those movies that benefits from the 3D format. I saw it in Dolby Cinema and I couldn’t agree with you more about the “green screen” effect. It reminded me of how Spy Kids 3D looked while watching it in 2D. I saw it again in RealD 3D, and the depth mostly alleviated this problem just like it did with Spy Kids 3D.

Summer Tyme I respectfully disagree. I’ve always enjoyed Kang as a character, both in the comics, Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes, and now in the MCU too. And he most definitely can and WILL beat the Avengers come Kang Dynasty
@crawdaddct
@crawdaddct Год назад
@@rileyribble6733 No one is saying the character cant beat the Avengers. Problem is this version, after this film, its not believable. 90% of fans have no idea who Kang actually is. You have to build him into the Kang fans know.
@summertyme5748
@summertyme5748 Год назад
@@crawdaddct Exactly. I know the plot requires him to beat the Avengers in Kang Dynasty. So he will. But the bad writing undercuts the credibility of the character in advance. Kang being trapped in the Quantum Realm - it's like...well, Dr. Strange being trapped in the mirror dimension by a whiny teen age brat with nothing but high school geometry on his side. It's just another low point in the history of the MCU and they have been more and more frequent since the beginning of phase 4.
