One of the best short film I have seen . Anoop Nelankandan as Mathews was really good - Salute to the promising director-Abhilash Nair . Hope to see you in theatre soon . All the best for your future projects.
A NEAR MASTERPIECE, MARRED BY THE UNPALATABLE CLIMAX. KUDOS TO SCREENPLAYWRIGHT, DIRECTOR, CAMERAMAN & EDITOR. VIJAY MENON AS GREAT AS EVER, WITH ANOOP NEELAKANDAN A CLOSE SECOND TO HIM.
For the benefit of those who did not understand the climax....the culprit escaped with his brilliance...there was a fire near to where he was locked ....that was indicative of his escape...vijay was a single person as you can make out...he had taken a policy because his sister requested him...mostly she must be the nominee...and she too had fallen into the trap of the culprit ......and the same fate followed vijay too.....though he discovered the truth behind the murders and suicides......the director tries to explain that such mafia are active everywhere with yet another way of another innovative crime....i feel the climax could have been better by not exposing vijay to danger....brilliant acting by vijay anyway...
Ending is not logical.Vijay tells someone in phone that an agent named Mathew is the culprit.That should be his sister on phone as she is the only one aware of this investigation other than Vijay and the victim's sister.If Mathew is her friend she would have recognised him.And most importantly if Vijay had already taken an insurance from him how can he not know Mathew inspite of being a detective?What the director tried to say was Vijay is the antagonist from Mathew's point of view and Mathew is the antagonist in Vijays point of view.but ending could have been better.
@@nelsonjoy770 in the end ,,,detective told someone in the phone that mathew is the culprit....., Now the victim's sister asked the detective to investigate the case, so that means he will be definitely revealing about the culprit to victim's sister.. So that case is now okk. In the next case, frst of all we haven't seen the detective's sister, this means both might be living in seperate places, also when the detective's sister asked him to apply for a policy, he might have directly gone for it,..... That is he might not have a direct contact with mathews for his insurance purpose,,, jst might have got all the information from his own sister about the insurance nd might have paid it..Also in the end , we havent heard the detective's sister revealing the identity of the insurance agent..(for his sister's sake, the detective must have blindly paid insurance )...In this case, he will never know that mathew is his insurance agent, as detective 's sister is acting as a bridge between antagonist nd protagonist.. (Bro, not here to argue with u, but jst shared my thoughts nd opinions about this )
